they also have stats that scale to your level up to level 80 so if you're leveling up a job you don't have to worry about equipping any other earring until level 80.

They definitely do work when you kill bosses, I grinded dungeons for sage from 71-80 and got the extra 30% from them.

For someone with every (at the time) job already capped, the earrings were absolutely worthless outside of glamour. The exp boost is nice during FATES and daily Hunts though even though it's small, but then they'll be worthless again soon enough. It would be nice though if they made bosses count as mob kills so they could be worth wearing in dungeons again besides stats, I agree with that.

Tonight's science experiment brought to you by House Junius. I ran Castrum Meridianum as a level 80 SCH. First boss was just Armoury (50% because 80+), Rested (50%). Then I added food (3%), then the earring (30%), and finally a Squadron Battle Manual (22% wait, what?)

The manual should have granted 15% but I suspect somehow there was some synergy with armoury or rested (15 x 1.5 = 22.5).

A scaling i430 earring you can wear at 70 is pretty good. The stats are always BIS til you're 80.

False, they do work on bosses. I was seeing the extra 30% on them (had 133% exp gains, 3% food, 100% armory bonus, 30% menphina's earrings) from the exp numbers during my grind with RPR. Then again, it should have also been obvious; they worked on bosses in SHB, so its pretty obvious they would in EW.
