Regarding all DPS rotations

I am really loving Reaper and am gonna main it over ninja due to how drastically different it seems now. I had planned on using ninja as my backup DPS. I struggle to stick with just one DPS because of small things I dislike about each one, so I like having two to switch between. My play group consists of a tank and healer so I get stuck on DPS.

With the preamble out of the way, what do you find is the most fun rotation for you to play? I am thinking of finally committing to trying Red Mage, but it seems potentially boring to play rotation wise so I am looking for general inspiration I guess.

I used to like smn but it's kinda a big meh right now. Reapers rotation I'm enjoying so far. BLM is still good and true. RDM/MNK I haven't really touched yet

Man, do I feel you.
SMN is one of SQEX's favorite, hopefully you will have more than playing with legos.

As for me, MCH is fun in dungeons, in raiding it's all reduced to correctly managing your heat and machineries. The job gained like 5%, 10% of difficulty but that was already on a low base.
Flamethrower is in a weird grey area of sometimes worth, sometimes not worth to use, Wildfire remains an automated tool and AQ is even worse as its finisher is even longer.
Fun thing, if AQ does its first finisher on a dead target, it won't seek another target for the second finisher, it will simply shutdown.

GNB is insanely fun and responsive, the No Mercy window is always satisfying and reminds me of previous Wildfire combo. I wish the designer(s) behind it would also design the other jobs. GNB is simply even better.
It has the right number of buttons, the right gauge... Hopefully they never touch that in the future expansions.

GNB would make a great design for a DPS. It is a poor design for a tank though. The constant need to press forced oGCDs during your rotation makes moving bosses a giant pain in the rear. For bosses that stand still all the time, it is fine.

All they'd need to do to fix it is extend the range of the continuations. 5-7y would be fine.

Three cartridges is kind of a pain. Things would definitely be nicer if it were back to 2.

For rotations, I really enjoy BRD. If you are a dexterous person who likes a lot of activity, NIN and BRD push the most buttons, I believe. I would main BRD, if my static did not require me to play a caster of some type.

I havent tried everything- still a sprout. But love dancer (it just hit 80) and white mage (79) machinist is also fun to me, but most of the other jobs i tried i have no interest playing

New NIN is pretty fun and hectic at 90. Working on levelling DRG now.

Kinda looking for a DPS with little to no downtime where you're out of oGCDs to press or positionals to hit. MNK scratched that itch for me before EW. As cool as new NIN is, it still has lots of time where I'm just kinda standing there doing 1-2-3.

Which caster are you using?

SMN. It was that for me or RDM. Since I already had SMN at 80, I stuck with it. Glad I did too. The playstyle is mobile and I enjoy it.
