out of couriosity this would be to crazy to be true. afaik arent there "connections" between your router and a cutszene nor you GPU.

Purely coincidental. The client doesn't have the capabilities of causing this problem.

I don't think any normal user here has the qualifications to make that claim.

ANY program that connects to the internet has the capability to flood packets. Lets not forget this game is complete japanese spaghetti code.

If this were happening on this client, it would be very prevalent and very well known. The number of players going through these very same cutscenes and not seeing any issues suggests that it's not an issue with the client itself. Yes, it CAN flood packets, but that is very unlikely to force the modem into a reboot. Modem reboots are typically caused by faulty hardware, provisioning signals sent from the ISP, insufficient power draw, or a signal issue. This sounds like a SNR that is too high on coaxial connection. That is something that WOULD trigger this exact behavior frequently. It's purely coincidental that its happening when entering that cutscene.

You neglect to mention it could very well be a problem with his specific setup. Just because its not a wide spread incident doesn't mean it's not happening on his end.

Nothing about his setup would cause the game to affect his modem in a way that it wouldn't do the same for everyone else. The only possibility of that is if someone had put malicious code into the game client that would target specific network devices. I find that to be quite the far-fetched idea from a company like SE, honestly.

You have absolutely no idea what the client is capable of doing on HIS specific setup. Saying it's impossible without knowing everything else is nonsense. You are not qualified in any way to confirm otherwise. And no one has mentioned maliciousness from square or any other company so that is irrelevant to even bring up.

-_- I'm not going to debate my qualifications with you, and at this point I think you're being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative. The OP posted with an assumption. That assumption was fundamentally incorrect. The whole purpose of my reply was to state that and direct the OP in a different direction in hopes that person could actually find a proper solution. The fact of the matter is this: The player base is vast enough that nearly every potential combination of hardware can be accounted for multiple times over. If there was code within the client that was flooding packets, it wouldn't be hardware dependent. Outside of packet flooding, the only other thing that could be happening would come from malicious code. I'm not saying that SE has done anything malicious. I'm not saying that anyone else suggested it. I'm saying it's HIGHLY unlikely. I only mention that because outside of packet flooding, the client does not have access to the hardware at a low enough level to do anything else that could possibly cause this behavior without exploiting a vulnerability in a connected network device. Exploitation of vulnerabilities would be malicious. Again... I'm not saying they're doing this, and I personally believe that they're not.
