    Yeah, it really does. I'm not optimistic for 7.0 for healers at all, and I unsubbed a few days ago because ShB 2.0 gameplay on the healers is not keeping me engaged at all and it doesn't feel like it's meaningfully going to get any better. I want to play healers, I love playing support and healers in other games, but this just isn't fun enough to keep me subbed.
    I'm genuinely happy for the people that find this fun, but this game's combat is increasingly becoming the worst part of it for me.

    Yea, I understand that. So long as Yoshi remains involved healers are going to remain boring, lifeless, redundant, and overly simple. At this point he's actively working against the community and ignoring everyone and anyone who raises dissent. In all the MMO's on the market, FF14's healers are among the worst because of the endless 1-button spam.

    Sage had a great onset with Eukrasia+Diagnosis+Toxikon. If Toxikon was indeed an oGCD it would basically lead to a GCD heal that can combo into an oGCD DPS, should the shield break. A clever way to mix healing and DPS without upsetting the balance since it is DPS neutral.

    Best of both worlds and still in line with what SE has been trying to do with healers, ie push to use GCDs to heal. It's great, innovative, fast-paced gameplay. If only.

    Toxicon really would be better as a return on investment button rather than movement but in squares World shield healer gotta have a movement button (for some reason).

    Toxicon and Lilies should be DPS neutral, which would actually incentivize GCD healing. It's rather baffling how the dev team is so close to getting it right (at least partially) but flubs right at the finish line.

    Lilies esp would fix so many issues of WHM if they were DPS neutral. I get that if lilies were neutral, in fights with downtime you could abuse them but thats what optimization is called.
    Lillies right now are between DPS loss and DPS gain. Why cant they be between DPS neutral and DPS gain.
    Toxicon rn is between DPS loss and DPS neutral. Why cant it be between DPS neutral and DPS gain. DPS might have a two meter high skill ceiling if that were the case. Right now it's just like 20cm above skill floor of just doing ABC.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    Exactly, optimization and forethought for downtimes/bursts would modestly reward the healer (both in terms of dps and gameplay), while the rest of the time it's just dps neutral. They're just so close.
