Constant DX11 Errors after Endwalker

[HalNel]

I had decent performance from the game until Monday, December 6th, when I tried that accursed spatial audio plugin that was advertised on the lodestone. I've already uninstalled it but my game's stability has disappeared ever since. As far as these DirectX errors, I don't have them appear at all until I go to player hub cities or city-states, and nothing I do seems to alleviate this problem. I can't even get a decent play experience when I switch to DX9, because polygons just don't render right. They streak everywhere and would give me epileptic seizures if I were susceptible to them. Before anyone asks: I've been on Win 11 since October with solid performance and no instability whatsoever until this expansion, and I've rolled my video card drivers back in an attempt to see if that would help. The system info pasted below will show this.




As an update of my plight... Around 1PM Eastern Time here, I've crashed in Limsa Lominsa and can't get the game to load up long enough to get myself out of the place. I officially can't play anymore. The dialogue box I get to give me error codes is blank, so I have nothing to work with.

This has been my entire experience, as well, except on Windows 10 and without ever downloading the spatial audio package. On the rare chance the dx11 client works fine, it tends to for hours. The moment I crash? I'm lucky if I can ever get back on without it happening repeatedly mid-load.

So far: I've reinstalled FFXIV, updated all video and sound drivers, as well as tried older ones for my GPU, every half-baked solution recommended by players makes zero difference, and overall, it's made it impossible to enjoy the game whatsoever.

I can deal with the queues. I can't deal with constant, anxiety-inducing crashes.

The queues have been triggering me all week... The needless client closes the 2002 errors cause were one thing, and now I've got to deal with this... I can't even properly troubleshoot because I have to wait for 3-5 hours to get into the game to see if anything works. It's enough to make me just not renew my subscription until they sort this out.

For what it's worth, middle of the night and early morning have little to no queue at all (this is pretty much how I've spent my insomnia hours the past several days: trying to get FFXIV to run even though I know it's not my machine and totally out of my control), but I know having time to tinker during then is a privilege that most don't have.

I'm having a lot of problems in that aspect too. I've already checked some "supposed" solutions suggested by other users (here or on reddit) and honestly... it's the same problem from a while ago, but made worse by the release of Endwalker.

Something that also bothers me is that, after the crash, going back to the game is an absurd job because the launcher simply doesn't load (I don't know if it's doing any checks, but the Login button takes a long time to appear).

- I've already launched the launcher both through Steam and through the folder (the game is installed on the SSD which has already been verified and is, apparently, without any problem);
- boot test with and without GeForce experience already done... no apparent changes.

Sad that "Errors" can occur at any time and this hasn't happened so often before. Considering that I migrated from console to PC at the end of the HW, adding up all the errors during that period comes pretty close to what I've experienced since early access... which is really worrying

Hey. Do you have a sort of "USB headphones"? If so, start the game, switch back to desktop then go into Windows settings -> System -> Sound -> App volume and device preferences.

Then Final Fantasy XIV should appear here. There are two dropdowns. Change the Setting "Standard" to your preferred sound output.

It seems that the game is confused when this setting is set to "Standard" and an USB soundcard is active.

It seems like I'm able to play just fine in areas with low player counts now. I'll have to try going back into Limsa or the new place in Endwalker to see if I crash again once the servers start to get packed and I actually feel like putting up with the stress from all of it. I've actually given up on playing the game on my computer for now though, and bought it again for my PS5.
