Plus why would you pay for NPC repairs when you can repair it yourself ...
I think this will be touched upon in the next producer letter/players poll results.

Using repair NPC can get expensive after awhile (at least for me who is gil poor). Like Jinko mentioned the cooldowns all reset and when your on the go with a party it is abit of an inconvience. We have been running Garuda (and getting destroyed) so it just seems like every fight I have to switch to repair someones armor and again each thing resets for something that shouldn't need to happen.I think as long as you meet the requirements you should just be able to fix it fast.

i'd be happy if they added a gear spot to add tools for repairs so you can make repairs for your party members or yourself without having to change classes to do so.
be on whm and equip a needle on your tool gear slot and you can make repairs/attach materia and continue being on whm. neither of those take into consideration of what gear you are wearing so you could equip the tool and repair without resetting your cd's.

The sad thing about this thread is that the OP suggested allowing you to repair whilst not changing class and its deteriorated into an argument about whether repairs should be kept in the game.
Keep it on topic guys.
I agree with the person who suggested a feature to repair all your own gear also, being able to click one button and repair all my gear without changing class that would be awesome. (maybe a I want my cake and eat it ya know)

Just remove repairing all together. It's stupid, annoying, and a waste of time. It isn't even expensive to repair. If you find yourself needing to repair all the time too, you need to probably find yourself a better group so you stop dying so much (obviously different with weps of course). Yes, if you haven't noticed, I just really hate repairing lol.

I prefer repairing over the more common methods in an MMO aka bind on equip gear for crafted stuff. it's nice to know that if I repair something to 100% I'm free to either sell it to someone or give it to someone else that may want to use it. Sure maybe I could just turn it into materia, but if I'm not interested in materia at least I have the option to let someone use the piece of equipment I may no longer need.Just remove repairing all together. I'm not asking for another method, I'm asking for them to get rid of it completely lol. It's just a bad mechanic, sure it makes sense to have it, but it is just dumb.I prefer repairing over the more common methods in an MMO aka bind on equip gear for crafted stuff. it's nice to know that if I repair something to 100% I'm free to either sell it to someone or give it to someone else that may want to use it. I'm sure people will find reasons to argue, because that is how the human race is, people like to argue, but it really is just an annoying feature to deal with.

Here's a thought for SE, not sure if anyone else suggested it yet: A toolbelt for one of the unused inventory slots that can be used for cross-class repairs. Make it hold "charges" that can be refilled with dark matter at a NPC. It could be a great money sink too (I love my money too but there's not much to spend it on); Who wouldn't buy a U/U cross-class repairing tool from a NPC?
Although yes you can use NPC repair for everyday fixes, most of the time I repair myself or put in repair request bazaar so I can resell it. Would really love cross-class repairing because it's a real pain to switch classes out in the field and have all your skills go on cooldown.
