    So GH CS just told me that because I didn't use delivery, I'm not eligible. Meanwhile I have at least two FC mates saying they did pick up and got codes. This is just hot garbage at this point, they don't want to honor their promotion, and used legal jargon to make themselves not responsible to do so.

    I expect that the emote will find its way onto the mogstation for $7 or something. Even if GH served my area I'm not paying double or almost triple for food I can just go get myself, that's just stupid. Almost as stupid as how this promo went down.

    at this point i don't care if that emote pops up on mog station, i am done giving mog station my money and outside of the game, i wont be supporting them with any other future promotions. getting scammed in the way they have has just left a sour taste in my mouth. i have also been so good as to inform FC members to do the same.

    I didn't get my code either, and on the day of ordering i was told that i need to re-order before the event is over because the fact that I didn't get the coupon accepted was a technical error on their part. I'm going to hope that SE resolves this, once I get confirmation of yes/no I'm cancelling/deleting grubhub. I have no idea why grubhub thought it would be a good idea to scam people over a emote. If they're willing to go to that extent over something so minor, imagine how horrible the rest of their service is? Well, at least I know how bad their customer service is at least. Shady! Never again.

    That was one of the worse things they tell people to do reorder why would anyone reorder with their expensive prices again just to get the same result cause they can't fix it the first time they screwed up once again big scam Grubhub won't even attempt to contact SE to try and resolve the situation totally giving these guys bad reviews.

    I am not feeling hopeful about Square Enix fixing the situation since it seems like they took part in hiding that it was a raffle/lottery. But I guess we'll see. My hunch is that they want it to just die down. I think if players want them to fix it, they have to keep being noisy -- keep it at the top of the forum, keep contacting SE customer service, etc.... but even that may not work. The cost of lost future $ from these players might just be too insignificant compared to the amount of money they can still make from others who didn't partake in this campaign or hear about the people screwed over in this campaign. Also, SE knows that most of us are not likely to cancel our subscription and walk away from the game because of this, which also lowers their own financial incentive to fix it.

    (If you want to understand this better, research the Ford Pinto scandal from the 1970s. Ford knew there was a serious, fatal flaw in the design, but it was cheaper for them to pay off the families who sued rather than to recall the cars. The only reason they did the recall is because investigative journalists caught them and broadcast it. There is a phrase for this in economics, I think, but I'm hungry and can't think of it right now, lol. Cost-benefit analysis?)

    But, anyway, there is a personal cost in continuing to pressure SE/GH about this "campaign". Time and energy. For some of us, there may also be an emotional cost. If you're someone who has experienced some major betrayals in life, particularly when you were growing up, then small incidents like this really poke at old wounds. Put another way, this little event feels like an emotional mountain because it's not just about this one event. It's all those previous ones, too, that you never fully healed from.

    Anyone who is hurting more about the betrayal than about the missing emote really understands what I'm saying here. If that's you, then my guess is you feel hurt because you trusted Square Enix, and you feel stupid or ashamed for having trusted them. This is how I feel -- and I do have a history of trauma in my growing-up years. I'm trying to take a positive slant on this and just view it as another opportunity to process & heal from all the old stuff. I'm also trying to keep in mind that 98% of the time, I don't fall for scams like this. I'm hyper-vigilant, so it's usually not easy to con me financially. Sometimes I'm going to fail, though, and this is apparently one of those times.

    I continue to take solace in knowing that I am not alone. Take a moment and look at the thread views from the General Discussion section. Notice that most threads that began in the past week have just 300-2,000 views. This one, by contrast, already has more than 22,000. There are a lot of people who were also scammed who are reading others' experiences but are not commenting. They're also trying to figure out what happened to them or their friends or their FC members.

    I'm at the log-on screen for the game now, and I paused and had to snort because I can still see the headline in the topics section, which says, and I quote, "Order Using Grubhub and Get the Eat Pizza Emote". Inherently false.

    Truthfulness would have been: Order Using Grubhub and Have Chance at Winning Eat Pizza Emote.

    This is part of why I view Square Enix as being complicit.

    Has anyone else received an emote after the Friday 2PM rollout?

    It's been static from SE and GrubHub in regards to the poor execution of this promotion. Customer Support representatives on both sides can't even tell customers the same story.

    I ordered my food on the 9th, used the promo code and then had $5 off applied to my order. Placed my order and waited almost 2hrs to get my food, which the wings were ok but they sent me riggin rotten celery. Yea, it was all slimy and brown and gross. But that's on the restaurants end, not Grubhubs. Well, lo and behold didn't get an emote code so I contacted support and the first couple people just told me it was limited quantity. So.. I ordered the first day and they were already sold out, but yet I hear people ordered on day 2 or 3 and they got their codes? Riiiiiight. After I got pushed up to a manager they said I didn't get the code because I didn't apply the promo code. I asked why I then got $5 taken off my order? They told me because sometimes restaurants have their own promos and the $5 off was probably given to me by the restaurant. I asked why the $5 didn't come off immediately then, and only after I APPLIED THE PROMO? Cause, I know I applied it. I only ordered through them because of that promo code! But nooooo, I didn't use the promo code. Frickin lying right to my face!

    And some people are saying they got refunded their entire meals, which I would have known to ask for beforehand because I was just offered a $20 code to use on a future meal from Grubhub within the next 30 days, and I am so disgusted with them I refuse to use it (that and I prefer to make my own meals usually, so I don't even eat out that often). I ended up giving it to some friends that like to order through Grubhub. But really, what is wrong with these people? Telling me I didn't apply the promo code in the first place when I know for a fact I did!
