Can we talk about Scion AI....

Running a full party of all 7 Scions plus me was remarkable. Never had a trial go so easily.

No messing up mechanics.

No healers botching it up

No Tanks forgetting any Stance or what not

No Derp-ps forgetting to dodge mechanics.

Only way the fight itself fails is if I'm the one screwing it up.


it was easy to follow a Scion of similar role to myself(In this case it was Estinien fellow melee dps)

I dare say I'd love to recieve more Trial Trust opportunities in the future.

And while I wanna avoid spoilers, that was BEAUTIFUL. That fight was MEANT to be done with a full party of Trusts.


I didn't cry, but damn did I choke up at this fight.

In my opinion, that trials design suffered a lot to make it trust compatible. I think it made sense in the narrative for it to be so, but in comparison to the 83/90 trials, the mechanics in the 89 trial are just so incredibly bland. The EX is a significant improvement and seems to have a lot of concepts that they couldn't otherwise implement with trusts in the picture.

Weird. So I also used the trusts for the trials, and they ended up in a lot of AoEs, especially in the first while. I actually thought to myself that it was nice of SE to not choreograph them perfectly so I couldn't just follow them blindly and it also gave me more to do as their healer which I appreciated.

I wonder if people's expirence changes based on their role? I ran as DPS and had little to do other than follow the other melee DPS around, only died once and it was becaused I botched a mechanic and didn't have enough hp left to survive the Akh Morn.

That would make sense! It would kind of suck to enter as a DPS and have those numpties constantly eating all the AoEs that they can find with no way to cure them. lol. Nice extra touch if it was scripted that way for the various roles.

From both a lore and a mechanics standpoint, if you don't run that trial as a trust, you're robbing yourself.

This is why I both adore and loathe the trust system in equal measures.

Being able to take npcs from the story into the duty with me adds so much extra flavor.. but on the other hand I am not going "OH MY GOD [redacted]!!!!" in a voice call with friends who would otherwise be doing the duty with me. There's one dungeon in EW that is non-negotiable for this, and if you did not use the trust then I don't think we can be friends.


It was interesting running the trial with trusts, because it put responsibility squarely on your shoulders. Don't know if I like it for trials.. Removes the kind of emotion you get from jumping into a fight and then conversing with a bunch of people, freely, because you know you're all at the same point in the story.

Funny, I was following Estinien to learn mechanics and he didn't lead me wrong.
