Why Does Summoners Gear Always look bad!!!

I am really sadden by the lack of effort that is put in to the design of Summoners Gear. It always looks ugly and just plan trash. Compered to all the other Gear for the other Jobs.

I don't get why they make it look so ugly. The Level 89 gear that you get is just the same kind of design with a new splash of paint.

Sages gear so so much better than Summoners. I can put up with the silly book as a weapon. But the clothes that most mages get just look like a overly long jacket or a robe.

Can we please for once get some cool looking Armour/ Gear for Summon.

It's called Job Fantasy. Mages in most fantasy games, table top or otherwise, tend to have the "wisend sage with flowing robes" trope. Hence why every mage job in this game, and most other Final Fantasy titles that have a majority fantasy theme, i.e. less modern aesthetic(I'm looking at you bikins and blue jeans >.>), tend to wear robes of some sort. The mage jobs in this game each wear the "robe" aesthetic differently. I'm honestly surprised you decided to call out Summoners designs vs. White Mage which has literally had some of their Artifact Gears look like something a Nun would wear. Regardless, the wonderful thing about Final Fantasy XIV is that is has a glamour system so if you don't like the way something looks you can change it.

The bigger issue is all of the PLD gear in Endwalker looks so good!

Buff SMN glams, nerf PLD glams!

I personally think the SMN AF looks great, and dyed it a dark green. /shrug. I like how it's reminiscent of the classic Summoner gear while also looking fresh and not overly bulky. All personal opinion obviously. I for one am happy with it though. It's honestly one of my fav iterations so far, followed by HW SMN AF.

You're completely entitled to hate it... I don't like either, but I know some people really love it.

Objectively, given the subjectivity of the theme, the thing we can ask is for more diversity in the overall concept, so we can appeal to broader tastes. Just like they did with the HW set, which remained on brand while going for different shapes and colors.

The level 90 set is beautiful, IMO. But I’m a huge fan of the original so of course I’d love this one, too.
