Scholar - Broil IV sound effect is very unpleasant

Ever since getting my scholar to 82 I've only had this issue in mind. In short - the sound effect for Broil IV is very uncomfortable. To me it sounds like a broken male lalafell's battle shout, repeating over and over again, over everything else. I know I'm not the only one who thinks this, for example Japanese Twitter is full of complaints about this issue.

I'm sure there might even be a few fans of the sound effect, but in this case, a simple sound effect is causing discomfort enough making it hard for many to enjoy or continue playing this job. I am hopeful this is either a bug, or Square Enix would consider changing this sound effect to something different.

Do you mean the sound effect from the ability or the shouting sound from your character . Personal I am really satisfied with the sound effect tbh and wished they keep it.

The shouting sound you hear is not from your character. It IS the sound effect.

i tested again and my character shouts every time he is casting the spell. perhaps the reason why it sounded like a broken lalafell male sound is because your race is a lalafell. If they decide to patch it i think they should turn off the battle shout, i understand it could be annoying if hearing it every cast. But to me, Broil IV sounded like Chinese firecracker or sometimes like thunder. I like it a lot.

You are mistaken, your character does not shout when casting the spell. I have watched countless videos of the sound effect and it is the same effect for everyone.

The issue with the sound and why it is annoying players is precisely because it sounds like a person shouting.

I personally don’t mind the sound effect of Broil IV. There’s something oddly satisfying about it. I haven’t really heard any part of it resembling ‘shouting’, though I am just using cheap earphones so I wouldn’t be surprised if I just wasn’t hearing it properly.

A similar issue occurred with the sound effect of the original Broil spell, where most people agreed it was unpleasant to listen to repeatedly, and they did eventually change it. So it wouldn’t be the first time they’ve nerfed a sound effect lol

I seem to hear a small "heh-ya!" everytime it casts. I personally don't mind it but i wouldn't mourn it's passing, but please keep the crackle noise it makes when you land the spell on the target., it's so satisfying.

I think it sounds a bit creepy as well. Broil 2-3 were a lot better imo,too.
