Why does it close the client?

Like, I get it that you can't find me on the lobby server even if I don't quite understand what a lobby server is... But does not finding me really warrant closing out my client entirely so I have to do everything from the start every time?

Like, there must be a reason, right? I don't believe it will just be because the spaghetti code demanded it. But this is the client's side of the programming, why is it programmed to close the entire goddamn client just because the Lobby Server got cranky?

This wouldn't be even half of an issue on normal days, really, 20 seconds to boot those up again, 30 if the One-Time Password chugs? No big deal. But you know how stressful it is to keep loading everything when all you're trying to do is getting your spot back? And then I try getting my character again and the server 2002 again before I can even log and then I have to restart the client and put passwords and One-Times again... It piles up.

So... Why? Why is it like this?

I went from 3300 to 2200, then to 4400 to 500 and 6200 to 5000, now back to 5600... All because I couldn't log in back in time, many times because I get multiple 2002.

That is what's prompting me to ask this question.

This is really the only reason I'm so upset about the queues. I don't care about the waiting, it's having to sit at my PC and babysit the damn thing the whole time that is not remotely acceptable.

Right? I think I would be able to be way more patient if 2002 would just toss me back into the tittle screen... Then I can go into Character Select and go back into the queue with 2 button presses, nice, easy and comfortable.

I assume that it kicks you out to prevent that because some way, somehow, one cretin can abuse this in a way I still don't know how which is normally the reason for EVERY garbage QoL problem this game has. And because of that, everyone must close their clients.

I've been saying this as well. What is worse is that it happen months before when the queue was bad with asmon first joined, and they had time to at least make it easier on us.

I'm shocked the army of. "chip shortage" cult has not come in and belittle you.

I assume many of FF14's failings, this one included, can be pinned on technical debt.
