    After an hour of waiting, the queue strangely dropped down to "1" and that's where I was stuck for like 40 minutes.

    Made it back after two Error 2002 and amazingly enough got in.

    I kind of wish they would implement an auto reconnect so you didn't have to log in again after error 2002.

    Or if they could actually fix it so you didn't get the error. 17K still seems like a small number across the whole datacenter.

    The queue is fine for Tonberry. Its a lot faster. No 2002 errors. 2120 queue at 5.09pm, takes around 30 mins to get in.

    Yeah, I am trying to stay positive but, considering I just got dced during the last boss of a dungeon, and the queue is over 4k on my world...my goodwill is running a bit thin. Think I'll just go play something else till I hear anything about better queue times or more servers. Nothing against the game or the developers but, I really am not in the mood to sit in a queue for another 3 to 4 hours just to have to re-run the dungeon. so yeah, have fun folks.

    I like when people make and post in these topics only to out themselves as people who have no idea what they're talking about.

    I'm tired of having to say what Square did repeatedly months ago. There's a global semiconductor shortage, they literally cannot buy new servers despite desperately wanting to. You clowns need to put an inkling of effort into reading WHY they don't have more servers before just assuming things.

    Is it still frustrating? Absolutely. Is it their (the devs and Square's) fault that the playerbase massively increased over the last 9 months and they had no way to prepare for it? No.

    There's three things going on with the people making these threads.

    1. They are not emotionally mature enough to handle even the tiniest inconvenience. They will claim that not being able to play a video game (thAt tHey paId fOr!) is much more than an inconvenience.

    2. They are over confident in their assumptions about the answers to the problems they're upset about.

    3. They have an overwhelming sense of entitlement because they aren't used to being told that there is no answer.

    Each and every one of these threads is full of this and I've seen it so many times across all the expansion launches for this and other games that I look forward to reading just how far these people will go.

    There is an optional fourth thing in that sometimes they think this is all also a huge conspiracy to scam them out of their pittance of a subscription.

    Sure, there are a lot of people posting that are acting extremely childish. I don't think painting with a broad brush is doing your statement any favors, though.

    I'm frustrated for a lot of reasons; and yeah, on paper they seem pretty minor, but you know how the internet tends to make everything sound like a 'life or death' situation. I wanted to do extremes blind with my FC, a thing that didn't happen, not because of the long queues, but because of the random disconnects that prevented me from reaching the endgame before everyone else. It's a minor thing in the long run, but considering this was my first opportunity (I started FFXIV mid-pandemic), it was a downer to realize that once again I had fallen behind my friends through no fault of my own.

    Does this mean the end of the world? Of course not! I've been doing a lot of other stuff while waiting in queue to get DC'd again, so it's probably been the most productive I've been since September or something! But for a lot of people, I can't imagine the experience is anything short of enraging.

    I totally understand and respect the situation that the team is in; it's basically an impossible fix at this moment, which sucks for both the devs and the playerbase. But it is hard to not be disappointed when, like me, you've waited in queues for 29 hours over 7 days and only played 6 hours last friday because you've been disconnected from the queue so much.

    To put it bluntly, it's pretty condescending, and ignoring a lot of legitimate grievances players have put out there in place of trying to act like the more mature party.

    Pretty much. People just don't understand that with the current state of the world that there are no practical solutions. There was a reason why the devs stated that we would likely see this situation. It's like people expect Yoshi P to be able to magically conjure server hardware out of thin air or something.

    All I can say is be patient about it. Just do your other daily routine while waiting for them to solve the issues. There are workarounds that may help you get in game. Like asking friends or relatives to queue early for you, or use remote desktop.

    Also, avoid wireless connections if possible. Test the ISPs for the best gaming experience. I avoid ISPs that gives me bad connections for games.
