Random question about activating the game on Playstation

I honestly don't know if asking here is the right place but since this is not necessarily a problem I don't think it was necessary to try and ask directly to support.

My subscription had expired and some days ago during Endwalker Early access I decided to try the game for the first time on my Playstation thinking that it would be a good experiment to see how well it would feel playing with a controller, wrongly I though I could make use of the free trial there instead of activating my main account and connected my account to the Playstation.

As expected I was not able to play since the servers are congested and I didn't even had Endwalker so I didn't get to the point of noticing that the trial was not working and just gave up. Later I decided that I would activate my account and get Endwalker since now all of this got me interested in the game again, checking MogStation I found out that now I had a Standard Subscription activated again with 30 days.

Does activating for the first time and connecting to Playstation on an inactive account rewards you with free 30 days? Does the game and/or PSN just randomly charges you and activate something like this without any warning or confirmation?

For now I believe the most likely thing is that I did get 30 days free from the activation since there is no transaction history or charges on either MogStation or PSN but I have no idea if I'm right or not and would not like it to discover next month that it automatically renewed something on PSN on its own and actually renew it only if I think I will be expending enough time in the game.

Does this makes sense? Is this normal?

I believe, though I may be wrong as I haven't registered on any other platform, but, I think yes, when you registered for the new platform, you get the free 30 days that all platforms have for new registration. Although, seems odd that you didn't actually purchase that registration... but I've not fiddled with it on the Playstation to know the workings of that end.

And yeah, free trial is per account, not platform. Using the same account which has already previously purchased registration, you would've been ineligible for the free trial. Would've had to set up a new account to do that. And I vaguely recall hearing it can be a pain to switch accounts after that, but I may be mistaken...
