Honestly though - is there a downside to implementing changes in the spirit of what Louvain suggested (whether exactly like that, or just something else intended to fix it) that isn't rooted merely in debate over whether or not it still matters what the Hunt was originally intended to be like? Apart from 'but it's not how SE envisioned Hunts when they made them initially', is there a solid reason to oppose a change like that?
There is clearly enough interest in attending S Ranks to make 'but what it it becomes too difficult to kill now?' a complete non-issue. Even ARR marks still get plenty of people attending; interest in EW marks isn't going to decrease so dramatically any time in the conceivable future that making them a little harder to kill would cause any problem whatsoever. Nobody's day is gonna get ruined because the mark might melt a little slower.

And frankly, I don't think beefing up marks' HP a bit is gonna cause the devs to spin in their chairs mourning the original spirit of the Hunt, either.
