Calamity Salvagers no longer augment our unaugmented Shire or Scaevan gear?

So I picked up SGE and equipped with the set of Scaevan healing gear I had left over and I noticed one of the rings was unaugmented.

NBD thought I, I'll just hop over the the Salvager and get that fixed. At least it wasn't Ironworks which would force a trip to go bother Drake... Except that option is no longer available under any of the menus (I looked). I had to go to the Reach to deal with this chore.

Game breaking? Of course not. Really annoying? Yes.

I'm noticing a worrying amount of erosion with QoL in EW. This includes the unnecessary escort missions and large increase in the number of unskippable dialog boxes (I love the story and most of the voice acting but some of the speakers are way too slooooow and/or grating).

I'm hoping these are oversights instead of intentional.

Calamity salvagers were never involved in the tomestone gear augmentation process. You have to take your unaugmented gear to the expansion-specific endgame counter:

Ironworks: Drake, North Shroud
Shire: Seika, Idyllshire
Scaevan: E'bolaff, Rhalgr's Reach
Cryptlurker: Shee-Tatch, Eulmore


while the original endgame tomestone vendors in the respective endgame hubs and the new vendors next to the main city aetherytes will sell augmented gear outright.

Following the addition of Sundry Splendors, the following adjustments have been made to gear exchanges for Allagan tomestones of poetics:

[2.x][4.x] Unupgraded Shire and Scaevan gear can now be exchanged for augmented gear by speaking with a Calamity salvager.
* Each piece of gear also requires 100 Allagan tomestones of poetics for the exchange.

If they removed it it's probably because you can buy fully augmented pieces and the feature is redundant. You can't even obtain the upgrade items anymore iirc.
