Maintenance did absolutely nothing. logged in at 1700 que got to 1 and got a 2002 error. couldn't get my spot back. then got put to the back of the line at 3k. this company is an absolute joke. The new Blizzard has arrived.

Same thing is happening to me. Can make it 1-2k before being hit with 2002. Yesterday it was 3001 ,only way I've been able to play at all since I logged Friday morning before work is overnight like 4am, which is rediculous.

I am still at work. But usually try and keep a watch out on the forums while here. This kind of sucks as I was hoping to hear something good coming the maintenance

Maintenance would not have help with that anyway but I lost spot again after more than 1 hours in queue go get kick back from 1k to 4,5k guess I will not play today...

The more likely cause of this afternoon's enjoyment is the fact that most of Aether went down.
When it happened I had been in queue for 2h 40m and was at position 330ish.

Same problem here. Thought the emergency maintenance would mean a smoother, more stable queue. So I tried to log in about 2.5 hours ago. The wait was around 2.9K, so I did other things on my PC, alt-tabbing back and forth to watch the FFXIV queue. It seemed to decrease progressively, albeit very, very slowly.

When it got down to 930+, I was getting hopeful I'd be able to play for a bit before dinner time. Nope. No such thing. Got the dreaded 2002 error soon thereafter. Tried to log back in immediately, hoping to get back in the same approximate spot. Nope. It took me 3 tries to get back into the queue, and now I'm back to sitting behind 3k+ other hopeful players.

Big, big disappointment and let down. This has been a terrible experience. I hope SE will find a way to stabilize this process. Apparently they haven't been able to do it yet. :-(

Edit: since writing the above, I've been kicked out 3 times again, and have finally succeeded in getting back onto the queue, except now it's over 4k+ long. <sigh>

I'm currently sitting at 1.8k after starting at 3.5k 40 minutes ago... Got 2002'd twice but managed to keep my spot in line.

Wait, no, it happened again while I was typing this, let's see if I kept my spot...
