[MAJOR ENDWALKER/SHADOWBRINGER SPOILERS] On the introduction of dynamis.

A very important detail that everyone is forgetting is that, while at the moment dynamis was introduced right before the story ended, the overall story of the game is still ongoing, and we now have ample room to explore dynamis more in future pathces/expansions.

Not everything has to be foreshadowed. And in this instance, from the moment we found out the true nature of Zodiark and Hydaelyn, we also learnt about the final days, and how this event had no known point of origin, that wathever happened couldn't be explained with our knowledge of the forces at work, mainly aether. So while it wasn't foreshadowed from ARR or whatever, it was properly set up.

Even more then Omega, Dancer's story is all about Dynamis, they just didnt call it that.

Seriously, look up what the class story for Dancer in ShB was. All the things they talk about, the way the things that are happening work, the final boss of the quest line is a straight up Blasphemy. In retrospect Dancer is straight up and Endwalker advertisement.

But Omega is the other big one, and it makes a ton of sense that Ishikawa specified playing it and Coils being the most important side content for EW.

Came in just to post exactly this about Dancer! And to top it off, Dancer is Thavnairian, where the modern-day concept of akasa is a known theory.

And for people who aren't total weirdos like me who can readily recall the majority of the game's content, the actual description of the thing the Dancer quests go up against:

Having at last confirmed matters with her own eyes, Mistress Nashmeira finally reveals to you the truth of the matter. What you have witnessed in Ul'dah and Gridania is none other than a phenomenon called the Totentanz, described ominously as the dance of the damned. As the Troupe Falsiam principal tells it, it is an aetheric manifestation that both arises from and feeds on the anger and fear in people's hearts, spreading across the land, taking over bodies and minds, and forcing unfortunate souls to perform a violent dance that often ends in their (and others') demise. She further explains that it is Troupe Falsiam's mission to wield the Kriegstanz to deliver the people of Eorzea from this menace, as her forebears have done time and again throughout history. Your calling as a dancer now crystal clear, you vow to redouble your training efforts, that you might be fully prepared for the confrontation that lies ahead.

That's... pretty much bang-on for how things would go on to be described around the Terminus Beasts, isn't it?

Dancer also is from Thavnair, which meshes with the Thavnairians having a concept of dynamis as akasa.

An interesting thought about Omega but I figured that comment was just because of the final zone and the things we see there. As well as the status of Midgarsormr.

TLDR: I think the introduction and application of dynamis was lacking.

I'm not gonna disagree. Dynamis and Meteion are plot devices that were introduced by the writers because the writers needed something to explain how the final days happened and how the Ascians were defeated. It seemed very rushed and I honestly think that the Endwalker story should've been divided into two separate expansions.

There is a lot of Dynamis foreshadowing in the Omega quests. It can't comprehend how we are so strong and cannot emulate it, because we have a power it doesn't understand.

As said we were presumably looking at something new. For all that we have managed impressive things, the Ancients were ahead of us in almost all aspects. I suppose it could have just been some new type of aether (brand new poison aether) or the like that caused the downfall, but I don’t see how that would be more satisfying. That or it had to be based on something we have managed that the Ancients never did. But I don’t know what we have to our name that could qualify barring maybe the big dimension jumping stuff the Crystal Tower does, and I’m not sure how that kind of phenomenon could be used by an outside force as an attack.

That's essentially what dynamis is though. It's just giving a name to the "your hope and will to endure gives you the strength to exceed expectations" stuff that's been part of the game from the start.
