Will this game ever get open world pvp?

I hope not. I do wish however they'd do things more like WoWs battlegrounds. I know they have a few kindaish ones but I'd love pvp grounds like wow or rift for fun. Open World just wouldnt work in FFXIV. At most maybe one island or something for it, maybe.

PvP is so much fun! Until you're in a MSQ dialogue lock, lol. I don't think it'll be a thing. I love the instances for it though!

It might be nice to have an open zone for PVP. Not the entire would, but a designated zone where you could go in without time limits or objectives and just beat the snot out of each other. An entire PVP server though? Please no. This isn't the right game for that.

This wouldnt be a bad idea however they would have to make worth peoples time to go into that zone

Just imagine ganking people that are viewing cutscenes or in a gatherer spec.

I know it would probably be a mess but funny nonetheless. Maybe a special pvp server?

World PVP wouldn't work out real well in FF14 because the game and world design isn't built for that purpose.

A better route for FF14 would be more Dark Age of Camelot (DAoC) inspired PVP. More specifically, DAOC-esque battlegrounds
