    Red Mage dual cast

    Hi,
    i hope i don't make a fool of myself but i noticed something strange with my redmage..
    Maybe i am missing smt but i noticed that often when i proc a dual cast and i use it, the dual cast buff does not go away and it makes me cast ANOTHER spell istant?
    At first i thought i was allucinating and just losing track of the buff but i changed all my HUD just for this pourpose and i can assure you i am not mistaken.

    Is it lag or did they upgrade some traits that i am missing?

    I practiced like 10 mins on a dummy and it happens quite often...

    You can't use Acceleration for the old 5.x use cases. You'll waste dualcasts on Verfastspells if you do.

    The mana gain for Acceleration is unchanged. Instead of getting 3 procs, you get the value of a swift cast (2 mana and 40 mana, divided by two for [1, 20]) and the value of a proc ([1, 10]/2) so you get an additional 10 potency over the old Acceleration but with far more utility for movement and with 2 charges to make sure you have less 'use it or lose it.' It's better than swiftcast at being swiftcast and it's better than Acceleration for mana gains.

    You might feel mana gain is lower because you're still used to the 80/80 regime (i've caught myself sleeping on 50/50 as well, not that it's a big deal) but if you're used to using swiftcast offensively (and you should have used and still use swiftcast offensively) then you can get used to Acceleration.

    Also you shouldn't have dualcast up when you Acceleration unless the boss buggered off between your fast and slow cast or you're priming swiftcasts for a boss returning to the field or you hit a lagspike.

    The amount of mana you need also is different. Before you needed [80, 80]-[28/7]=[52, 72] mana to get a new combo after coming out of a combo.

    Today you need [50, 50]-[19, 8]=[31, 42] mana, which translated into the old meter is [49, 67] so you're further towards your next combo then before. Further, there's no build to 40/40 for your first manafication, and it's easier to bank gains in mana over the course of the fight.

    honestly i tried the "new" acceleration and i don't like it >_>
    it messes with the rotation i was used to, but it is probably just a matter of habit

    You'll get used to it. With all the RDM changes put together, in most dungeon battles I don't have to Jolt anymore and I love that; or if I cast Jolt I didn't actually need to, because I had enough mana for a combo or I had a charge of Acceleration but the boss was about to die anyway so I chose to Jolt to save resources for the next trash pull.

    Yeah, no need, you can dualcast a raise whenever you like (MP permitting), whereas Swiftcast used for movement or just because you can is damage gains.

    Now if you HAVE swiftcast and raise, fine, use it, but you shouldn't be holding swiftcast for very long.
