Probably quite a few. Players have been asking for caped gear for years. SE has decided to provide it finally.More capes SE? Seriously? We've recently seen the updated numbers, and tailed races are still the most played. I wonder if this new set will cut off our character's tails, or if it's just going to clip through this time? How many more caped pieces of gear are we going to get in Endwalker?

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned yet and Im not going to read the entire thread, but:
In 2.0 the dev team was designing gear for tailed races (then only the Miqote) and shortly before the HW expansion announcement, they announced that they would no longer be designing gear for tailed races. I always enjoyed those details. At that time we also received a lot of interesting Hard Mode dungeons with their own side storylines, a job was released in a patch. It was a time that brought a lot of surprises, but I think they realized at the time that it wasn't sustainable for their team. Remember, they just worked on 2.0, a whole new MMO while working on the 1.0 patches and while working on the HW expansion back then.
In 2014, with the size of their team, that was understandable and for the most part the community let is pass with little thought. However, I do feel they do have the resources now to put in the work into the "little things" like they did.
They aren’t taking tails into consideration , they were taking it into consideration previously like 2 years ago, something or someone has changed in the design team and they aren’t doing a good job.

Kind of sick of all the gear we're not allowed to have because of tails.



Au Ra's have it bad you have the horns that clip or look bad on most head gear along with the tails.


So we shorten it in to capelets for the tailed races. Short capes!! Would be cute!
I think its more of a situational thing. For example the EW DRK AF you get at lv 89 actually has tail armor. It took me awhile to notice it at first because the armor is black as is the hair on my tail. Though admittedly the main reason I noticed it was it didn't match the curve exactly causing it to stick up at bit at that point.
Honestly the problem is capes have no physics atm, they're a fixed armor piece that SHOULD be covering the tail but the problem is it sticks right through the cape and it DOES look a little jarring.
Honestly with Mi'quote, Au'Ra and Hrothgar all having tails they should take another look, at least with the armored gear they could just replace the tail with an armored version on certain sets but even I would like them to do some improvements, some of the tailed armor doesnt look right because it's not fitting the tail's form on my own character. It basically is hanging off my tail instead of fitted to it. They should look at fixing this.
I know it's just a non-ideal paliative answer to this situation but I'd love a toggle on the chestpiece named someting like "hide appendages", so we could hide capes, buttflaps pouches and whatnot. At least it would provide something while a more laborious redesign of the 3D physics of the tails are done.
The sole reason I've joined the Viera male bandwagon is because miqo'te tails clipped everywhere not just capes.
Sadly I resolved the issue while going into a completely different one... hats. -_-
I solved that issue by turning into a race without tail, I feel free now.
