So they knew Blizzard was abusing their workers, which in turn made big time streamers leave WoW which in turn in record breaking timing all came to XIV which in itself broke records which was just like what 2 to 3 months BEFORE EW released? You mean SquareEnix knew all of THAT? Fuck if they did I want that shit cause they can predict the future no matter how random it can be.

the could see the reports that showed the number of active accounts and the number of pre orders. so yes they did know how many people would be playing. they then had 2 choices. 1. buy or rent more servers . which would have been a short term loss and a long time revenue gain, or they could frag there customers. it would a smaller short term loss and a long term loss. they chose to go with the option that would loose them the least amount of money. they would rather loose customers then spend money on equipment.

^^ This. Right here. Renting server space would have been a neat solution. (Barring those servers having their own issues today, which i've been told). But I digress. Only if people raise hell will square actually think about doing anything about it.
