The good news is you get to wait in the que again. People need to realize this problem is NOT going to get fixed. This release was a mistake. Square is in damage control mode.

Damage control over...what, exactly?
They knew this problem was coming and did everything they could to try and minimize it, but hardware shortages and pandemic limitations prevented them from being to do anything meaningful. They knew this. They told us this. We received at least a month's warning in advance that launch was not going to go smoothly.
Tens of thousands of people per server are actively trying to play during this period and the servers are struggling to accommodate for us all.
This comes after a period of extraordinary population growth for the game that brought the servers to their knees moreover.
I don't know what you want them to do at this point. It's not like they completely ignored these problems and just made us fend for ourselves. They've been transparent about these issues every step of the way.
I swear, the most toxic WoW players brought over their pessimism and just so desperately want to share it with the rest of us.

It's considered toxic in this community to complain when it's been SEVEN DAYS since people have been able to play the game because SE, who knew over a year ago this problem would occur, did not take steps to prevent it? You can't even say "oh it's covid theres no parts to make more servers". Every single launch in MMO history has had a large influx of people to try it out and servers have always been overloaded, it's very clear that they did not take steps to prevent this. You can claim they said they were doing things to try, but the fact that they waited SO LONG to even attempt steps shows how poorly this was planned. Go ahead and respond with your flames, but as someone who played wow for 15 years, has 5 level 80's (Non-boost) on GW2, a 65 on rift when it was level cap, a level 100 on DFO, among many other games. It's common sense that this was going to happen and they waited way too long, knowing full well that this would be the result.

So they knew Blizzard was abusing their workers, which in turn made big time streamers leave WoW which in turn in record breaking timing all came to XIV which in itself broke records which was just like what 2 to 3 months BEFORE EW released? You mean SquareEnix knew all of THAT? Fuck if they did I want that shit cause they can predict the future no matter how random it can be.It's considered toxic in this community to complain when it's been SEVEN DAYS since people have been able to play the game because SE, who knew over a year ago this problem would occur, did not take steps to prevent it? Girl from blizzard killed her self to because of what a dev did to her at a party passing out a bad prvt picture . Bad picture . Thats why lawsuite
And this my friends, is why you don't take that sort of picture to begin with.
Not to say it's right, its just a word of warning. You can't trust anyone to not be jerks.
FFXIV has been growing for YEARS. The spike in population in 2021 is irrelevant in the face of that fact. Market analysts would have seen the rate at which the population was growing and would have told SE that they need to deal with the problem, and they would have said that long before "muh chip shortage" and covid and Blizz being outted as the trash company they are. All of you that keep harping on about "muh population spike" just ignore reality and the fact that the population of FFXIV was already seeing a massive increase in its rate of growth long before your precious spike. And the problems with servers go back years, not months. So they knew Blizzard was abusing their workers, which in turn made big time streamers leave WoW which in turn in record breaking timing all came to XIV which in itself broke records which was just like what 2 to 3 months BEFORE EW released? The irony of you disrespectfully calling someone "karen" and telling them to "do some research" when you need to do some yourself about the server issues FFXIV has had and the rate at which the population for FFXIV has been growing for years. You do know the server shortage has been going on more then a year lol
Also they didnt know it was going to be this bad a year ago. They started looking into getting new servers once que times started many months ago and couldnt obtain any to this day due to production and on time of that they couldnt predict the influx of players during covid nor could predict that a good amount of WoW players also transferred over.
Do some research before post again or you will make yourself look like an uneducated Karen again

You do know the shortages started happening in 2020 right also slowly growing and huge spikes arnt the same. If servers were easily obtain when we started to see que times what about a year ago SE would have already added them since when they made the original announcement about monitoring the population and looking into getting new servers online however made a follow up announcement a bit later on they are still having issues getting servers and still monitoring the population increase and thats when they started to warn the player base that que times most likely will start getting longer at the rate the population is growing and that will see another player spike once EW would release but they hope to have new servers up and running and then did another announcement once we started to see a large spike saying they still cant get servers and also looked in to Cloud servers which wouldnt work for FF14 and warned again que times are going to get bad till they can get new serversFFXIV has been growing for YEARS. Or
Did you not do your research which clearly you didnt

FFXIV active population Tripled in one year (if not 4 months). This was not even close to anything anyone could have projected AND they were growing along with their market projected growth. They had plans to expand servers and capacity that were delayed.FFXIV has been growing for YEARS. The spike in population in 2021 is irrelevant in the face of that fact. You can complain about all manner of things this game does wrong, but faulting a company for not foreseeing the crash of the industry leader along with a mass exodus makes your position weak. Launches are always rough, but this is one is especially rough because of several unavoidable factors.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
