    Grace period for disconnects

You have got to allow a grace period for when people have gone through queue and have gotten into the game and experiences a disconnect.

If someone gets disconnected in a dungeon, trial, raid, any form of group content, that person is just gone. For hours. Good luck trying to plan anything with friends, if even one person gets disconnected, plans for that night are out the window.

Honestly, of all the problems with current circumstances, this seems to me the most troubling and concerning and it baffles me that it's not being talked about. I am wholly in favor of addressing the many other issues, but to me this should take priority. If this continues on until the release of the raid tier, which I suspect it will, this is going to make running a static impossible. Please address.

Doing something like that however would slow the queue progress down to be even slower than it is now. It sucks to have to wait in queue to log back in but that spot that opened when you got disconnected was immediately occupied by someone that had already been waiting in queue before then.

How is having a long queue more of an issue than waiting in said long queue, earning your place on the server, disconnecting, then being right back at the end of that long queue? Of course I'd prefer there not be a queue at all, but having a grace period in these times seems like a very basic concept that already exists in mmos and confuses me why 14 doesn't have the same. Someone that had waited the duration, in my opinion, deserve their chance to play. If the queue was reliable, time with the game guarenteed, I don't think nearly as many people would be upset with a long queue.

As I said, if we're still experiencing lengthy queue times when the raid releases, not having a grace period is going to be DETRIMENTAL to many static groups.

Because first they need to add code reserving places on server for a specified amount of time before releasing it which then slows down the availability of spots on the server because it takes longer for them to be released to an open status allowing someone else to sign in.

It may be detrimental to raid statics? It's detrimental to EVERYONE. Having a raid static doesn't add any more importance to your ability to log into the game than anyone else's. People are going to be upset over a long queue regardless. Making it longer just to attempt addressing randomized incidents of a connection loss while playing overall just makes the larger portion of the player base suffer more.

Think of it like a big sale at a store. You got inside after waiting in line, realized you left your wallet in your car while gathering the items you wanted, and had to go out to get it, You now have to wait in line to get back in because someone else was let in when they saw you exit. They aren't going to hold the line back for 5-10 minutes to see if you wanted to go back inside.

They should be able to differentiate between an intentional log-out and a disconnect though. No one's suggesting a grace period for every single person; just for those who get unintentionally disconnected.

Just to point out, I believe that code already exists. The grace period is one minute. What many people are suggesting, is that the grace period be extended to at least something more reasonable temporarily during this high traffic release period, something of at least 5 minutes.

A longer grace period by even that little bit, wouldn't be too damaging to the existing queue, and would at least allow SOME breathing room if someone attempts to log back in and gets hit by the wall of 2002's and 3001's that seem to be quite common right now. As it stands, if someone tries reconnecting and experiences that singular 2002 on first attempt, it most likely is going to go over that 1 minute grace period and you loose your spot in either the server (If d/c'ed while in game) or the existing queue (If d/c'ed while in queue).

Grace period isn't 1 minute, I dc'd mid 2nd trial extreme with static and immediately join queue at 6.8k so yeah there is no grace period just got to suck it up and wait.

There is one, it's just not working 100% because the log-in servers are constantly having a fit. I've been D/C'ed in queue and in-game a few times and managed to catch that grace period by luck. It DOES exist, it's just not working as intended at the moment.

Then I got incredibly unlucky and missed out on over half a raid day (still waiting in that queue)

Everytime I've DC'd even before EW there's always been a queue for me to get back in. Never has it been where I don't wait in a queue and hop back in, I'm always in a queue regardless.
