I'm liking new Monk more than I thought I would. Blitz adds enough complexity to the job that I have no issue with the reduction of oGCDs and positionals, and using them feels good. Doing the Blitzes isn't hard by itself, but lining them up with your buffs while not dropping Disciplined Fist or Demolish and getting optimal damage from PB is actually quite challenging. I was skeptical of taking positionals off Bootshine and DK at first but after playing the job it makes sense. Blitzes would just be a nightmare to land properly if you still had positionals on every attack.
Honestly the thing I've struggled with the most is just unlearning old Monk. Subconsciously I still want to hit the positionals that are no longer there, and I'm really used to always doing DK -> Twin where now I have to do DK -> True a lot more often which throws me off. Nothing that practice can't fix though.
By far the biggest issue with the job as I see it is chakra overflow. Monk needs a higher chakra cap now more than ever. So many chakra are wasted because you simply cannot spare the weave window to use Forbidden Chakra. Not to mention the overcapping during Brotherhood.
Besides that, Anatman desperately needs to be revamped or replaced since it's easily the most useless skill in the game.
Six-Sided Star also needs to be changed or replaced for the same reasons as usual (overly situational, difficult to use correctly, feels bad to get GCD locked for 4 seconds).
I'd also like to see Riddle of Wind changed because it's just a boring cooldown. You just press it when it lights up and that's it, there is no interactivity at all.
Also, Riddle of Earth still being stack-based doesn't really make sense now that it no longer has positional nullification. Shouldn't it just be a timer? Maybe you could also extend the timer by using multiple charges.
It'd also be nice if they could add Disciplined Fist and Leaden Fist to the job gauge so I don't have to look at my buffs all the time to see where I am in the rotation.
