What will win out: Limsa or Sharlayan?

Limsa will still dominate. However, I hope they continue to expand the NPC's and vendors available in Sharlayan in order to make it more appealing. It is aesthetically, and musically, superior.

My vote would go for Sharlayan, but I don't think Limsa has anything to worry about. Personally, I mainly hang around the Gold Saucer when I'm half afk, so I can catch a gate here and there or work on the challenge log. Somehow it just seems like the appropriate place to park my character while making dinner or whatnot.

Limsa simplly for the fact you can world visit from it. As far as I know you can't from Old Sharlayian. If you can then the latter would win out for the expansion but people will always come and go in Limsa since its an ARR zone.

Limsa. My Grand Company is there and that's why it's ALWAYS my free port city. My Return is always the current xpac city. But no matter how much I love a city, I will always keep my free port to where I have access to my Grand Company and that has been Limsa for 8 years now. And on top of it, my personal house is off of the same aetheryte as well. It will always be Limsa for me unless there is some fundamental change to Grand Company locations.

Probably Limsa because of world travel. But Sharlayan is just so gorgeous!

Limsa still wins cuz you cannot world-hop with Sharlayan Aetheryte, and new characters have to be invested (time to level up and doing MSQ vs money for level/story-skip) to access Sharlayan.

I've had just enough time to do a walk-about of Sharlayan, and honestly... Yeah, definitely Sharlayan, lol. I've never been big into Limsa, Gridania has usually been my haunt, but after having a chance to wander it a bit I have to say that I'm more than a little in love with it. I suspect just about the only thing that'll change my mind from that will be if/when I can actually get a house, lol. But I'll invariably turn it into a giant library so same difference, I guess?
