    People are mixing up the definition between frustrating, and fun. They lifted those lvl cap restrictions for a reason, I wonder why.

    I'm going to go out on a limb and say if Lv75 wasn't the cap at the time of CoP release, all the boss battles would have been scaled accordingly.

    Oh look, another thread comparing still-broken FFXIV to post-expansion FFXI. What we actually need is for the game to be in a finished state for once and then an actual expansion. Fuck being like XI, I'd prefer to be better. There's potential for so much more, why settle for anything from the past?

    I hope they keep the "system" of unlocking areas/content after going through missions/quests like CoP and Sky did.

    Stepping in a new unlocked area did give a sense of achievement, more than a title and 5k xp.

    Thankfully, this is never going to happen considering the direction this game is taking. Yay.

    I didnt like CoP. The level capped areas were silly and the fights were just a pain~ ToAH was the best in terms of content imo but WotG was my favorite. I loved Campaign and the storyline and being able to be involved in the crystal war and fighting for the forces of atlanta.

    either way, most people who played ffxi, really enjoyed CoP. Sorry you're in the minority here.

    I'm glad that people who played FFXI enjoyed CoP. This isn't FFXI though.

    FFXIV has the potential to be so much better than FFXI ever was. Not in the same way, but in its own way. The goals and target audiences have changed, so they way they approach things must change as well. Sorry this game isn't bending to your will, you should probably find one that you do like.

    I loved cop & rotz and did several of the missions many times to help people out. Managed to never once use the astral burn strat nor did we have to wait 2 hours to try again if we lost... I found the story to be engaging and the missions challenging. I enjoyed the level capped areas except for the need to carry around all that equipment for different levels so glad they changed that. The level cap made it so I could actually go do a mission with someone level 30 who needed it and not just go as a 75 and do it FOR them.

    I really, really loved unlocking zones and never really cared about the final rewards, the story and helping others was my real motivation.

    I hope they have some awesome progression type content in mind for 2.0 and a lot of it too...

    My opinion of this whole thread is make it optional I love a challenge and I love to grind. If you don't then maybe you should avoid some of the content. I don't believe that any game should be built for one type of player. I could be like many of you and let myself be powerleveled for example; instead I will grind my way through on really strong mobs that almost kill me every fight. I will enjoy this game to it's fullest by having epic battles with mobs that are many lvls above my own. So, unlike many, I understand that an rpg be it mmo or single player is as hard as you decide it to be, you can even fight in your underwear if your so inclined. in fact I encourage you all to challenge yourselves and make your accomplishments know so that SE will understand that many of us still love a good fight. and yes level caps are a way of making sure you don't have certain abilities that would make a battle too easy.
