But there are peak hours for each region. It's not just one time it's more or less periods of high login activity. When you say peak you're refering to the spike the datagraph.

This is an old xi census but it illustrates why you can't go by a single peak's numbers. You won't have all En, Jp, Fr, Eu, etc players on at once and you're discounting them if you only go by the US's peak numbers.

    Edit:

Until SE gives us an official census on players, there is no real way of knowing how many people are actually subscribed/playing. It's all guessing.

I will say the same thing about CoP now that I did 5 years ago, right before WotG came out:

I just can't stop laughing when I read these posts about how WoG could be the worst expansion ever, the FFXI killer, etc.

CoP has that title and it will never, ever give it up. You think 2 new jobs sucks? How does 0 new jobs sound? How does completing hours of level-capped content just to access the new city (and a crippled version of it with no auction house, at that) sound? How does a 30-minute walk to reach said city sound?

If WoG was as horrible as CoP, the playerbase would quit in droves (which they did). CoP is the gold standard of a [poor] expansion. The CoP team clearly believed that the playerbase was some sort of out-of-control mob; rotten children that needed to be taught a lesson. They treated the playerbase like an enemy at every turn, and the only people you can get to defend CoP display some kind of Stockholm Syndrome, where they argue that that's the way it should be.

A shining example of this is AV vs. Odin. AV (the big bad guy of CoP) has been slaughtering alliances for over a year, and the most we can squeeze out of Squenix is "this is how to stop his irrelevant regen." Odin (the big bad guy of TAU) slaughters a few alliances for a couple of months, and Squenix immediately offers up a trick to nullify his deathga.

It's a fundamental difference in attitude.
