So ill get this put of the way first. I'm a project plumber at my company and I work 7 am to 3:30 PM. I dont have any dependants or a spouse and in my current state of affairs I don't socialice much by choice. That being said I've been able to avoid a lot of the server issues by simply logging in at 4:15 I'm the morning and playing for as long as I can. During the mon-fri this requires me to put in a couple hours before work and then I'm finding myself extra tired before the end of the day. I have never played a game in my 30 years of gaming that basically had set times when you could play or not. The reason I titled this thread "sacrifices" is because of how much shit people are currently going through and willing to go through for an issue that was never their fault....kinda like something else going on I won't talk about. Ahem.
I know a lot of people personally who only like the game for its story as many people who like the ff franchise do. These people have no intention of doing endgame or anything they just want the story. Since everything in this game is heavy story and gated behind story, would it not make sense to make this a single player available feature? I understand how this is bad for people who want to do side quests etc but if you did a bunch of crafting etc in the single player campaign, why couldn't it just save your data and transfer said data to the server when you enter your server with other players? Maybe I'm crazy and I'm not very tech savvy so I don't know how data transfer etc work but this launch is actually insane to me coming from someone who played wow for years and still has mint conditioned NES games where you'd unwrap it on Christmas and play it immediately. Imagine buying a pair of shoes you could only wear between 3 AM and 7 AM?
I know people have gone to great lengths to get into this expac and play and because of sacrificing my entire weekend and changing my sleep routine I have managed to get to 88 but when you step back and look at it it's insane and was completely preventable pre cov, pre chip.
