    Que Boss Extreme

    When submitting a bug report, please use the below template and thoroughly fill out the necessary information.

    Date & Time: 06-12-2021 18:00
    Frequency: 3 to 4 times over a period of 4 hours

    Steps:
    1. Connect to game
    2. Title screen Error 2002, or not
    3. Select Character and wait
    4. Error 2002, or not
    5. If Error 2002, go back to number 1
    6. Get back your spot in line, or not.
    7. Decide to write a complaint to SE
    8. Spend 30 minutes to find a way to adress the situation
    9. Compose your text.
    10. Go to bed and do not expect a reply as it seems to be custumary over those kind of issues. Haven't they been around for years?

    I've been playing the game perfectly fine but since the launch of Endwalker, I've been bombarded with error 2002 while waiting patiently in queue and this last time was it. I have waited for 4 hours, still on the computer because of those damn error 2002 that boot me out of the line and if I don't reconnect fast enough, I know I'll loose my spot. And 3 times during that 4 hours of waiting I had to reconnect multiple time in a row, at least 3 times, and 2 times out of 3, I did get back my spot. This in itself is quite the ordeal and isn't what your costumer are expecting when they purchase your game and service. I want compensation for this.

    But it is not the end. So I was down to 1 person before me before I could play the game. Suffice to say, after 4 hours of waiting, I was frustrated but still eager to play although my play time would have to be short. But guess what? I WAS BOOTED AGAIN FROM THE FUCKING LINE AND I TRIED TO RECONNECT MULTIPLE TIME AND I GOT BACK TO +7K PEOPLE BEFORE ME IN LINE.

    With all due respect I demande compensation for this too and the 7 days of gaming that is supposed to be given will not make the cut : we have a game we can't play and it doesn't seem this MAJOR problem of yours will soon be fixed so I expect to have a shitty login experience that will span a quarter of my day always checking on my computer just in case ERROR 2002 will appear again...

    AND YOU WANT ME TO SAY THANK YOU FOR 7 MORE DAYS OF THAT?

    When I read Yoshida's messaging from today, I was disturbed to not see mention of error 2002 after sitting in the queue for a long time (but still with plenty of waiting left to do). I see the OP was experiencing this problem too. I hope the team is aware of this version of 2002 because it is the one causing me the most personal distress.

    It's not a software bug. Error 2002 in particular is an intentional effect. It occurs when the number of people currently queued hits the limit the systems engineers have designated as "if we go beyond that, we risk the entire system collapsing due to load". They game is acting exactly as expected when it gives you an Error 2002 in that situation.

    The problem is that demand for their services is so high that they are at the absolute maximum limits of their hardware capacity. And due to the now-2-year-long semiconductor and chip shortage, a result of COVID supply line disruption as well as other events (fires in chip factories, a severe drought in Taiwan heavily reducing the availability of the super-purified water they need in semi-conductor manufacturing, etc.), they literally cannot get more hardware. They've been trying for nearly a year to get hardware for their Oceanic server and still can get anything for that either.

    They don't have much in the way of options here.

    Anyway, my point of all this is, 2002 isn't a bug. A bug is by definition is unintentional behavior that detrimentally affects the software. Error 2002 is an intentional limitation. It still, obviously, detrimentally affects your usage of the software, but reporting it as a "bug" won't help. SE knows that there are tons of people not able to play, and that queues often kick people out. They are actively working on all of those issues. Cluttering the QA bug feed, which should be about catching actual unintentional things that they don't yet know about, with more threads about errors they both know about and intentionally put in to protect their server stability is not helping. That's all I was saying.

    RE: the Karen comment, that was mostly about the fact that you walked in here demanding (more) compensation. In a bug report forum. That was literally "I want to speak with your manager" level unreasonable entitlement.

    They are trying their hardest to fix these things, subject to the unchangeable hardware limits of their server infrastructure. You have every right to be angry, frustrated, or pissed off that you can't play this game you purchased and want to badly to play. I just have issue with people suggesting that SE did this either intentionally or negligently, when all evidence points to neither of those being even remotely the case. Or that SE is not putting in effort (or sufficient effort) into fixing it. Or that users are owed something, above and beyond literally making your subscription entirely free for the duration of the issue, simply because they can't play the game the day they wanted to.

    And here is an exemple about life many can relate to, probably you also : I bought a car. I works some times during the day, especially when there is no one using theirs. I shouldn't not complain since I have a car I can't use most of the time even though I bought it to use it when I want to.

    You are welcome to disagree and ADD something to the discussion. If you can't, I wonder what you are doing here on this thread.
