an example. if you ordered a new car. they delivered it on the day promised, but you find out you have to pull on the door handle a random number of times before the door will open and let you in. Also if the lock glitches out. you will have to start over again with a new number.

or an plane trip. you bought your ticked. you go to the counter and check in. now you have to wait in line to board the plane. at any time you could be knocked out of line and forced to recheck in and get back into the line.

or you go to a hotel. you pay for a room. now to get to the floor your room is on. you have to take the elevator. only so many people are allowed on the floor at a time/ there is a guard there. only letting people get on when other people leave. Then wile standing in line. the guard tell you there is a problem. you get knocked out of line. then have to recheck in, and get back in line. at the end.

How many "white knights" would defend these. as they do gaming companies.
Also this is there 4-5 expansion. has the company not learn anything?

Depends on which company.
If the company is known to treat their paying customers like dirt, insult their playerbase and outright go down a path that makes them look bad (I am looking at you, Activision-Blizzard), then you bet I'll make fun of them.
Squeenix recognizes the issue, gives us one extra week as compensation and is taking active steps to fix the connection problems, which is more than other companies do. That's why I'm actually supportive of them right now.

You do know there are literally hundreds of thousands of new vehicles sitting on holding lots waiting for ECU's so they can be sold, so your analogy is a little spot on but not in a way you intended. Now, I'm not giving SE a full pass on this, they've had AGES to procure new hardware, they hedged their bets that the shortage would ease and they lost. They could have halted sales of game codes, probably should have. There are a lot of factors that affected the choices they made, things we are not privy to and can only speculate about. Like I said, no pass for SE but ANYONE with a pair of eyes and ears and has been paying any bloody attention to world events KNEW this was coming, including SE and team. I'm not feeling the hate or the outrage though, I have more important things to worry about as an adult. That all said 7 days? I think a month is a little more fair, or halt all sub charges till congestion eases (probably a month or so). I think the investment in such goodwill would end up saving them money in the long run, but we all know how large corporations think..

It happened in WoW and has happened for ever big MMO launch. The only thing you can do is wait for the queues to go down or for them to fix, create more or upgrade the servers.
