I havent had a single 2002 error and my connection is always excellent and it doesnt even drop in game aswell , however my friends have had it a few times and i know they gave faulty connections anyway because they DC in raids or within the world (their voice even goes robotic and also get kicked from discord)

But even these friends will blame the server even when its clearly their own internet or something is going on with their area like a blackout in the next county over

That's a tired old argument. Lots of online games are able to keep players with faulty connections online.

And even then, it simply isn't true.

I have a 45 ms ping with my server, and absolutely zero packet loss. I never DC in raids. My connection is always 'excellent' yet I get 2002ed like crazy.

Other companies who aren't as big as SE are able to have the networking infrastructure to deal with this kind of thing, them still not improving their system even after all this time is just not excusable anymore. I'm tired of them blaming ISPs when it's clearly 'their' problem.

Here is the deal. I am seeing a bunch of shitty responses in this thread.

Not all of us can log in and have fun. Kudos do those who can. May the Lord bless you. All of our stories are different as to how long we can play and how long it takes us to log in.

For instance for me, I work for 8 hours and after work I have 3 hours to play for bedtime. I go to sleep early around 8P.M to get up in the morning at 3A.M for the gym. Then get back 6 A.M. to get ready for work. So my schedule is tight as is.

Today when I got home from work I have spent most of those 3 hours trying to log in. It is near my bed time. If I want to play then I need to say to hell with the gym. Just to play for a hour or so.

So yeah Yoshi-P needs to fix this crap. Not sure how else to say it. I mean he can just keep giving out free time. But that is not really beneficial to his company. So yeah.

That is unfortunate for your friends. While I cannot speak for them or others, I can attest that my ISP hasn't changed in years and I haven't had constant disconnections with absolutely any other game except this one.

I also feel that even with your friends and other people perhaps having that 'one faulty wire' or some other outside issue going on, SE servers shouldn't require top-of-the-line hardwired connections in order to play, as I'm sure people wouldn't be so outraged if this was a common issue we experience with other services and the problem truly just was a hardware issue on our end.

I have a level 80+ here. Tested it on a new char, alt char, actual char. No change in results.

I don't think you're understanding. Folks, whose high level characters are on other servers, are trying to play the new content on said high level characters. They are not seeking to create brand new characters on a backwater server to replay all of the ARR-Shadowbringer content instead of the new content they purchased access to.

I work from 7am to 4pm 5 days a week. I am spending 3+hrs trying to get into a game that to date, has had the worst que times, worst wait times, lobby error that if you get kicked enough times, dumps you at the back of the que once you can get back into it. I've been kicked to the back enough times now to make the collected count of players waiting be over 12k if I were to add up all the que times I've had to restart at, and that's just for tonight so far. I'm still trying to get in for whatever time I can get in tonight.
Adding game time to the sub, isn't a solution. It's nice, but isn't a solution.
Having to babysit the launcher for that inevitable kick is ridiculous. I've been playing since the broken days of 1.0 and played the entire 2 yrs of that version. I have that lvl of patience, but this having to relog in every time you get a boot, needs more than adding game time to a sub.
Making the kick bot smarter so that you can't even stay in the game if you have to go make dinner for the fam rq, just adds to the venting players are displaying.
Calling them children for venting on the forums, is in and of itself, what you are saying about yourself. Allow players to vent, be respectful and remember, karma might decide to make you wait hours upon hours.

My bigger issue with all of these incredibly inconveniencing workarounds and weak compensations is just... why the hell would I EVER want to pre-order a Square Enix product again?

If we are supposed to be okay with this and just expect massive instability on releases to the point we are being recommended to stop even trying to play, what is the incentive for players to bother pre-ordering again in the future? I'm not sure if an earring and a minion are going to convince me to deal with frustration like this again.

Nah it is a solution.
You play less so I can play more. Works great. You guys are unable to make temporary micro adjustments in your lives to have or do what you want, so the rest of us who can put in the 3 minutes of effort to do so are sitting here enjoying the pre-launch.
You prefer to have SE make those micro adjustments specifically to your individual lives. Well guess what, not happening no matter who the company is, how much money there is, or what solution is proposed.

At the end of the day someone has to lose for someone else to win so thank you for your sacrifice is about the best pat on the back I can give you through this.

Speaking of still missing the point.....
