Which is ridiculous. Simply because savage comes out in 4 weeks, if we're still going to have long queues then world first prog and clear is going to be all kinds of messed up.
Some of you people should just get Squares name tattooed on your forehead..
Just sprinkling a little common sense here since its obviously absent. When you combine a huge spike of players coming to FFXIV with an expansion that released, you get this. The servers are constantly getting bombarded with login queues.
And if the queue servers didn't work at all - there would be no queue. You wouldn't even see a 7k+ queue. The reason you get the error is because again, you have a crap ton of people "Trying" to get on. Imagine all the people trying to get onto the server as a basketball. Now imagine trying to push/squeeze that basketball through a small hole. There's a bottle neck.
Also, the queue saves your spot when you get errored out and log back in immediately. Unless like you explained you get #1 then the client technically see's you as logged-in so basically you go to the back end of the bus.
So common sense. Well, I tell you something about common sense. We subscribed to a service where we pay money for. SE is not able at this point in time to provide that service for me (and others) to an extent that I am comfortable with. When I come home at 7 pm I stare at a queue of around 8k players waiting, even if I do not get disconnected I face around 4 hours plus to wait. By that time i have to go sleep because my night ends at 5:30 am.
So common sense for me is, if SE is not able to provide a service worth the money, they don´t get any money from me unless they are. I do not care 1 cent why they are not able to. I am aware of the semiconductor shortage, I work in IT for over 25 years as a system engineer. Where I work we suffer from that too, but you know what, our customers don´t freaking care too, they care about us providing the service they paid for. That´s how business works, it does not work with excuses.
Honestly what is that with gamers excusing every- and anything so easily, you are customers and you and your money is more worth than Square Enix is providing at the moment.
My subscription ends by the end of december, if this shit show is going on by then, i won´t resubscribe. That´s my common sense.

Which is why they gave the 7 days to compensate so you don't lose money. Of course they will give more depending on how long and how severe it gets/continues. If they fix the queue issue before this Friday than you are getting FREE days. I also don't get home till about 7:15pm. The longest queue I've been in is around 4700 which took about 1H 20m. So I think you are overly exaggerating on the whole 4+ hours waiting around 8k.So common sense. Well, I tell you something about common sense. We subscribed to a service where we pay money for. I would agree with this if you weren't already being compensated with free game time and (according to the devs) you will CONTINUE to be compensated with free game time until the issues are solved. So common sense. You're essentially playing the game for free right now and until the issues are solved, so relax.
The menacing aura of every Lalafell.
I've had my fair share of that type of person in retail. The Karen's, basically. Even when the company is facing problems beyond their grasp and they try to compensate their customers to keep them happy they just get spit on. The customer of course would gladly take the compensation but in the end they always want more. The "I do not care 1 cent why they are not able to" attitude gives it away. Ignorance at best.I would agree with this if you weren't already being compensated with free game time and (according to the devs) you will CONTINUE to be compensated with free game time until the issues are solved.

In case people are lost, this reply is in regards to Mordranar.

Which happens with an exceedingly high frequency to handwave it as an "unless" scenario.
Not to mention you also had thousands of people getting kicked from the queue, tried login back in immediately only to get insta kicked out by a 2002 error multiple times, and by the time they manage to get back in they lost their queue spot
Well said, I work in a pharmacy and I can't even begin to imagine the shitstorm that would unleash if I told a patient I won't be able to get their medicine till maybe next week without actually being certain becausenof Covid and stuffI am aware of the semiconductor shortage, I work in IT for over 25 years as a system engineer. Ok, screw it. Whole evening Queue like hell, and everytime after 1000 places down it crashes with "Lobby server encountered an error". Don´t have time for this. Have 16mnths old daughter and can play only one or two hours at night. Since EA on 3rd I had only one night I could login without bigger problem.
Wish you luck.

That's really disheartening to hear that you haven't been able to play much at all. At this rate we need more than an apology from Square Enix.Ok, screw it.
