Getting frustrating at the 2002 and losing queue position

Log in, queue is over 3500+.
15mins later, 2002 disconnect.
Log back in, queue remains around 2800 something. Yay, it saved my queue position..5 mins in..2002 disconnect.
Log back in, queue still saved. Whew! 5 mins later, 2002 disconnect
Log back in, 2002 disconnect.
Log back in, 2002 disconnect.
Log back in, 2002 disconnect.
Log back in, 2002 disconnect.
Wait a few mins; Log back in, 2002 disconnect.
Try again....FINALLY...but...queue is back up to 3500+

(Rinse and repeat above scenario when trying to play)

Yes, I have read there's a semiconductor shortage. Yes, I know that you know the issues. Yes, you have given us 7 days game time extension....

BUT, IT'S STILL FUSTRATING.

I gave up. I have a few hours of free time after work. There is no way I'm attempting to log in any more. The cycle of "log in, hope to connect to the data center, join the queue, get punted, repeat" is getting old. I was at one point in a line of 3k. The data center won't let me connect just long enough to lose my spot in line. I've played this game since the beta of 2.0. At this point, my frustration is going to taint the actual game play. A full time job, outside of the home, just isn't compatible with this expac.

This is so freaking true! I'm just glad that I'm not the only one who feels this way. Waiting hours on end to play a game and when you get in your just so angry that you don't really pay attention to anything. Not to mention I'm really hating the que music.

Maybe actively kick all those Chibas, Jade characters, and that Cat guy who stands around and dances in one spot around Lamia and it might help.

Yeah, I wish they'd do something about that. Even before the expansion pre-release and launch, I had to wait in a 50-ish person queue every time I logged in. Only to see the same 20+ characters in every single world server in Limsa (and elsewhere) that's always standing around AFK dancing, posing, or playing instruments for days, weeks, and months on end. Not to mention all the bots multibox script farming and throwaway accounts standing around every main city shouting gil RMT websites. We'd probably have less server congestion and people in the queue on each world if Square would do something about them.

I've played maybe 10 hours of the new expansion in total because I can't get logged into the game. Meanwhile, I see constant flame threads from people with multiple 90's (including the new classes) whining about how they can't play. I haven't even made it out of the second zone yet. On my third hour now just trying to get logged into the server. I've been 2002'd four times so far and my queue was reset from 2300 back to 4700 earlier. I can't spend my entire play time just trying to get in.

I'm getting sick of this too. SQE please make it so leaving que does not reset your spot at least for people who have game time. This is getting ridiculous getting kick out of que when we are almost in and then getting blocked from getting back in to que only to finally get in only to have to wait all over again. The que is taking 3hours if lucky and being dropped mean most of us end up waiting 6hours or more just to get in. The que system is perfect for normal gaming times but right now it need to save peoples spot indefinitely so people can actually play the game.

i would really like to know how they are still logged in being afk all the time...

i play on PC and i had to walk away for a bit to tend to one of my kids. I was afraid to go AFK since they are supposed to boot people after a bit. I put a rubberband on the controller to have myself run into a wall and when i came back to the game after what i thought was 15 minutes i had a system message that said i was going to be logged out for inactivity. I don't get it, my dude was still running in the corner. It sucks that i cannot go AFK for a bit to take care of IRL stuff without fear of being kicked and then forced to wait for hours and go through this 2002/4004 cycle for logging in while these people can just sit there and dance all day and take up a spot on the server. it is just frustrating.

As someone who had 13 lobby errors while trying to get in for the last 3 hours, I understand the frustration entirely. The queue has to be babysat to an extent. The second you 2002 error, you need to relaunch the game ASAP to hopefully maintain your previous spot in the queue and not end up further back. People that work don’t have the luxury of monitoring, nor do they have the luxury of spending 3-4 hours in a queue and getting to play for 1.

Shortages aside, this is an issue every expansion launch. The 2002 errors are by far the worse for EW compared to others, but it happens every expansion. I wonder if there’s anything that can be done about it for future launches.
