what is the meaning of early acces ? many ppl seems to have forgoten what it means !

as far as i am aware, EA means that player pay to get a to play EARLIER to an UNFINISHED version of the game
(with possibly bugs, and other very unpleasant things like error 2002 in queue)
so im curious why do ppl act like this?
you all knew what you were signing for, right ?

if you dont like it, well dont play the early acces and play only from official release, if then problem happen, oh yes you will have all the right in the world to complain !
but now ? not so much ...


(just a small post because its getting ridiculous the amount of crybaby that keep saying how bad SE is bla bla bla, when with a minimum of common sense it can make sense really easily ...)

I’m wondering how often do people play on a daily basis to feel entitled to access the game 24/7… I don’t want to judge how people use their free time or how they prioritize their hobbies, but to get so worked up about the game suffering from it’s own success, and not being able to play for a few days…. Sure its unfortunate and frustrating for some, but I agree it was perfectly predictable. It will pass and things will go back to normal eventually…

There's two types of early access...

One is primarily used by small or indie devs to raise funds during development, usually offering an early, unfinished version of the game cheaper than it will eventually retail for upon release, with the promise of future updates as the development progresses (unless you're Larian then somehow you can charge the same price as a AAA title for an early access one!)

The other type of early access, mainly used by AAA companies such as SE or Ubisoft, is where you get access to the full game (or expansion) a few days early in return for pre-ordering.

FFXIV is firmly the latter type.

Its more about what preorder means, yes there are some issues but those typically are in game things not external things such as server issues. Things like broken skills, monsters way to powerfull , glitching through the ground or walls at places. Bugged drops, bugged power as in op skills for us beyond whats ment, bugged quest etc. We all accept those with preorder. But you dont expect the setver that was near perfect pre to have such massive issues on a large expansion drop. That's an external issue

When you pay for preorder the entire point is to have a headstart over people who havent.
Get in first and get through things with and unfiltered path.

This means more these days with stupid streamers,video posters who will ruin the entire experience of the game with their videos and making fight guide videos, text
So getting in before all that trash happans is the best experience which is y i preorder anyways

Example ff7 preorder for remake we had to wait the full time but stupid streamers posting the gameplay from au because someone screwed up and gave it out early way earlier.

And this game ppl will be screaming y you failing go watch a video to learn mech, etc.
Streamers will have spoiler post all over in a week. And going to youtube has a huge risk of game being ruined for u.
So honestly cant blame ppl for that.

It’s a valid concern that I understand. Some have already finished the MSQ and others haven’t even been able to enter the game since the launch. But it’s a reality too… we can’t all have it our way, and I still think it’s not a good enough reason to blame the devs, rage quit, and throw tantrums (I’m not saying you are personally, just speaking generally).

Honestly I would agree if streamers didnt exist and people posting vudeos of the game, which then players will scream and pressure ppl to watch to maje easy on them.

Ahead posting videos of it unyil atleast 5 months after isn't. If this company dud something about that and what causes id agree with you completely.

Put it to you this way they dont get in cant get msq done in time to farm tomes good have to spend more gil to avoid this issue (maybe)
They not only can't experince the msq themself without it being ruined but now the raid is ruined for them to because if videos. So nothing is fesh until they add a new msq trail/ally raid months later.

Which cant be avoided if yiu watch anything from the fame series, like i listen to old ff music all the time and cant hit by a list of ffxiv spoiler fits every time i logon to youtube.

With dingeons its okay because trust tajes some of that away, and u can experience it your own way. Only until they sdd trust as an option for the entire ganes atleast 1st time would i agree with the notion.
Not because im against team plsy but im against streamer/video nonsrnse making the game pointless to play withiut experiencing things yourself atleast the first time. After first time can remove it as an option but

That's not what early access means. It sounds like you're confusing early access with beta access. Early access simply mean early, as in "before the majority of players" i.e. official release. It does not in any sense mean that the product has not passed the QA testing phases that would mean that it is in any sense "unfinished". NOTE: that does not mean that there aren't any bugs, but that is true of all stages of the product, including the official release date.

By the way, if you're offended by some of the posts, using terms like "crybabies" or "bla bla bla" won't help.

and as long as they advertise pre order come with it, it's not just a mere bonus, fail to deliver it count as false adverstising.
