If you're getting 2002 at the title screen:
• Try again once or twice more.
• If unsuccessful, stop trying to prevent further frustration and try again later.
If you're getting 2002 while in the queue:
• If possible, try to improve your connection wherever you can. Switch from wifi to a wired connection, move closer to your router, etc.
If you're getting 90002 while playing the game:
• If possible, try to improve your connection wherever you can. Switch from wifi to a wired connection, move closer to your router, etc.
• Reinstall/repair the game files.
• Restart your router.
If you're getting 3001 while trying to log in:
• If you're willing to risk the headache, you could try the World Visit system.
• Otherwise, stop trying to prevent further frustration and try again later.

As outlined in a recent post by Yoshi himself, the 2002 error has twofold causes: One, which happens when trying to enter from the title screen, is simply caused by too many people trying to log in at one time. A few Google searches reinforce this, which makes it the most likely cause. The only available solution, at the moment, would be to simply wait a little bit before trying again.
2002 in the queue is caused by unstable internet. I have experience having used two distinctly different internets trying to log in the past week, and I can tell you that having better internet definitely helps, since any loss in packets is a lot more likely to cause you to drop considering the sheer volume of people trying to get in. Switch from wifi to ethernet if possible, lower the distance between the router and your computer... whatever you can do. From my experience a ~30 Mbps UL/DL speed is rife with 2002s, while >100 should be more or less safe.
90002 is similar yet slightly different to 2002 in the queue, as it is also mostly caused by unstable internet. However, it can also be caused by an IP/TCP mismatch, which is easily fixed by restarting your router, as well as damaged game files, which can be fixed by reinstalling/repairing the game. However, I wouldn't do anything past simply trying to improve the connection unless your UL/DL is >100 Mbps, since that will be the most likely cause with this much server congestion.
EDIT: 3001 is caused by the world itself being at capacity. The only things you can do here are to potentially try the World Visit system, although that may not be worth the headache to a lot of people.

Please keep in mind that the growth of FFXIV in recent times is unprecedented, and while I'm not saying that the instability is acceptable, it is very much expected. Remember that there are always other options available while you're waiting for things to cool off.
Additionally, try not to worry about FOMO, as there are many who are in the same situation as you that you'll be able to run content with in a week or so. The 90's with shiny weapons you see are a small minority of outliers, and there are many in your situation who you'll be able to run content with in a week or so.![]()
