I literally can't play this game?

Constant DCing?
we PAY to play this game, AND pay for cash shop.
It would be different if it were a free to play microtransaction game, but no, we have to pay a monthly fee.
Even WoW, with all it's problems, never keeps players off it's servers for THIS long.

and no, 7 days of game time is NOT enough to make up for this.

I can't believe I PAID for this game and am not allowed to play.

With all the money you made from the great WoW migration, you could of EASILY upgraded your servers before launch. hell, you delayed the launch to make sure the game was ready, why weren't more servers/bandwidth added? that's part of a game being added.

Uh, no. Server growth was stable until June of 2021, then it exploded unexpectedly. That data is public.

The OCE data that is slated to come online ASAP (currently sometime in 2022) would have been enough to accommodate the predicted growth based on the increases prior to June 2021, but the unexpected population boom coupled with the hardware shortage meant that their timeline was incorrect.

And right now, no amount of money can buy new server hardware - it simply doesn't exist. Companies that had resisted remote work were forced to suddenly adapt, and the high end server hardware needed for non-cloud applications to run it has been in short supply ever since. My own office had to wait a year for our new Dell rack.

Considering concurrent players on Steam are over double the concurrent players after the SHB release, they did NOT have several years of data to predict this issue and it is 100% a July2021 onwards problem

All three of you proved me right. The numbers were growing over several years, and the rate at which those numbers were growing was increasing. Even in your attempts to prove me wrong you prove me right.

I know this horse has beaten into glue already, but I'm gonna say it again. They had several YEARS of data to predict this issue. Even without the exodus from WoW this year (2021), it was still clear expanding the server capacity was necessary BEFORE launch, not after as they had planned.

They have, on multiple occasions, talked about the rise in popularity of FFXIV these past few years. If you don't understand that that means a steady rise in both numbers and in rate of those numbers increasing, then you don't understand basic market prediction. But hey, white knight harder. Even though Yoshi has already acknowledged that they messed up, admitting they should have dealt with the servers before launch instead of after.
