If you get in within a threshold of time it'll preserve your place, but the problem is when you can't (cause it's at completely maxed capacity) or more realistically, the fact you got disconnected in the first place.

Depend on how many peoples are trying when it will become even more congested it will stop working
Yesterday morning I could retake my queue in evening I could not anymore

Armchair developers thinking they know more than the actual game development team.

I don't see the Cloud being a solution due to coding limitations. However, can't they rent servers via contract?
That’s exactly what you can do using cloud…. But it’s quite pointless to discuss here seening how very few apparently knows anything about the cloud but just argues ”you need to rewrite or write from ground up” which is utterbullcrap, there are tons of software running in the cloud that was written way before cloud hosting was even a thing.
Just as a few examples (and no it’s not cheap)
https://cloud.ibm.com/gen1/infrastructure/provision/bm
https://www.ovhcloud.com/en-ie/bare-metal
http://https://azure.microsoft.com/e...edicated-host/
But you’ll find that basically all cloud providers offer this, and none are sold out due to pandemics or semiconductor delays.
LOL you know this is not what is going to be offered for a MMO the size of FF14. Again, you are just assuming this is what will be offered and act like it will be easy transferring the game to cloud serversJust as a few examples (and no it’s not cheap)

Also cloud servers do have their own draw backs just like physical servers..... New World is on Amazons cloud server and since release was suffering from massive lag and still does suffer for server lag however thats prob due to crappy coding
Well I don’t wanna compare to New World as I haven’t played it enough but I played some weeks and never had any issues with lag, but then again neither have I ever had any lag on the FFXIV servers either.LOL you know this is not what is going to be offered for a MMO the size of FF14. Bare metal servers are bare metal… they’re physical dedicated servers that you rent from another party. You don’t know who I am or what I do or did during my lifetime so back off with the accusations.
Erm there is a difference in just programs and MMOs lol while they share similar stuff but they also different. However, you also have no clue what all goes into it you are just assuming so you are exactly like the people you are complaining about and again SE already have made a statement over Cloud ServersThat’s exactly what you can do using cloud….
