Fair warning to all that use World Visiting system during this time

I just want to warn the community a hard lesson I learned yesterday. It was early in the morning, about 7AM, and I wanted to visit another server, that was a big mistake with this server congestion. It let me quickly move to another server so I thought, ok this won't be bad, but when I wanted to return to my home server it ended up being a 17+hr wait in queue to get back to my home world at 12:30AM. It rolled down from position #7 to #1 over many hours and stuck at position #1 for 3 hrs. And while you are in queue you can't leave the zone, it won't let you do much at all! I had to keep my character logged in standing around taking up space until I could get back to my home world. The options of logging out would have me right back in the same mess with restarting my world visit queue trying to get to back to my home world.

In reading past posts it seems the world visit queue is prioritized behind new logins. Perhaps there is a reason, but in my mind for this situation I felt bad because I was taking up a seat for 17hrs and unable to do anything. I just wanted to get back to my home world and log off. They posted many warnings about the congestion, and I read them all, none mention issues with world visits. Wish that warning was part of their update.

Just thought I would share so nobody else feels my pain. GL out there.

Actually, they even added an option to use the World Visit system at login in patch 5.57, and suggested this be used because of the expected congestion. The problem I have is that, even when I am content to play under the limitations of being a 'Wanderer' on another World, I have never actually been able to get it to work - it always comes up as being unavailable.

I was going to hop over to a different world go nab something on a cheaper market board, but when I saw there was an estimated 20 minute queue that was a big NOPE from me. No way was I going to get stuck like this guy.

Try to do world visit during less-prime time. My home world Tonberry in Elemental data center is the biggest server, always have a queue even in content drought, and is pretty much inaccessible during prime time, but I get very small queue during off-prime time to settle my business over there.

I have made the mistake of world visiting as well. I assumed since it was early morning and the transfer was instant, it would be no problem. I do not know how the queue jumped from no queue at all to 5+ hours in the 1 minute I was on another server to look at shark prices.

There are people joining the actual queues at 1.5k and getting into the server before my world visit queue of 30 goes through. I just want to go home.

Heck, I would even log out and log back in if I could choose to login to my home server from character select.

Absolutely not worth it. I would be less bummed if I wasn't "tricked" (for lack of a better word). Going from Zalera > Brynhildr was instant, but going back nearly directly after from Brynhildr > Zalera has taken me over 3 hours just to go from 47th to 19th. I've been 19 in queue for 40 minutes. I'm deeply confused about how they manage the World Visit queue, since it obviously isn't the same as normal queues. Do we have to wait for a wanderer to leave or something?

Yeah, that’s what I’ve noticed today as well, you can leave your world immediately but going back to your world is absolutely impossible. This really looks like a bug to me.
SE, please look into it and disable the world transfer till its fixed.

Ive just been doing the msq on a smaller server for shorter ques, then i return home at night to check my retainers. I then again go back to the smaller server to log out.
