It is briliant in the morning no issues, once you in game you sorted at least me , just trying to log in during peek hours when everyone comes back from school and work. That is where fun starts ^^Same here! My main is on the Ragnarok server and I woke up early (5-6am) so my queues were fairly short. Never got an error message, I had zero disconnections and I only lagged a bit at some MSQ NPCs because there were many players around (my potato PC is old). I finished the MSQ last night and I really enjoyed it! I was away from the forum/Discord/Reddit for the whole weekend so I was shocked when I saw all the issues. :')
Been running great for me! A few hour long queues here and there, but I've been able to logout and log back in frequently enough for me to make dinner and stuff. None of my friends have had issues logging in either. Sure is nice to be on the datacenter that everyone jumped ship from.
I had a lot of time during the weekend, logged in early and played through the entire day.. But yeah logging in afternoon, evenings on Odin for example is hard with the 2002 error.
BUT lets be honest. The team explained the entire situation to us, they did what they could behind the scenes. Sure Blizzard and WoW left a mark on this launch with all the players joining from WoW which is, by any means, not a bad thing for FFXIV. But with corona and the server material prices shooting through the roof (i dont have sources, just trusting what the team said to us) its incredibly hard to manage imho.
Give it 2 or 3 weeks maybe a little longer then it should normalize.
Hang tight fellow warriors of light, we'll get through this together!
Edit: Once i was in though, i NEVER got booted. Not even once. So that is a great thing per se.
Phoenix (Light) checking in. Horrible queues? Check.
It depends on when you log in, I find. I'm on Siren (Aether) and if I log in before about noon eastern, no queue no problem. But it picks up from there generally hitting 3-4k later in the day.
I'm on at 5 am server and have no issues, but my fc is still reporting 5-6k queues to get in. And the queues are slow to clear, people aren't logging off. I know one guy that was logged in for 72 hours.
I conveniently had a 4 day weekend having worked over thanksgiving, and while I'm not a morning person i was able to be up an hour after servers came up and had a 4k queue, but was in by 5 am. Played all day no issues went to bed and got up and logged in at 9/10 am both Saturday and Sunday with 50ish in queue, same as i had seen week leading up to patch, all 3 days no issue playing. Got reaper and sage to 80. Haven’t touched any new story areas yet but was able to play well all weekend.
Back to my normal life now and wont be able to play till after 6pm... i expect long queues based off of what I've been reading, but i had not made any plans to actually dig into the story until my xmas vacation in a few weeks. So i feel lucky to have played as much as i have the last few days. I wish others have good luck the next few weeks so i can get back in and play without massive crowds at all the npcs lol
Yeah, this is one of those things people love to say that is almost never true. (And they never offer proof)
They're giving everyone game time and have suspended housing demo.
Why? Because most people ARE having issues since launch.
Nope none here either.
Incorrect. A significant number of people are having issues. A "significant number" might be 10% when they were aiming for <1%. Saying, "a significant number" doesn't in any way, shape or form imply a majority, or any particular fraction of a whole. If you have a sample size of 1,000,000 then 10,000 could be called significant. Leaving 990,000 unaffected.
Most people are not having issues. 5% might be, and those 5% scream so loud that people who have no scope of vision automatically assume 99% of the player base is affected. Yet there are not even a thousand complaints here. Go ahead, count 'em. Most of the large threads have, what, 200 replies? 300 replies? And each of those replies isn't even a unique complaint.
Then double the number of folk for Reddit, and again for whatever other social media hub one chooses. There's a couple thousand people total behind this rabble, in its entirety, and many hundreds of thousands playing, having fun, and mostly keeping quiet.
=======
No queues here over 200, most are around 50, no errors, no sound problems, no disconnects. Just like most folks.

Level 87 here. I've had a wonderful experience so far. But I'm also in a somewhat privileged position with having unlimited work flexibility to play in the middle of the night, so I know my perspective isn't the majority. I battled the 2002 boss a couple of times and said screw it and set alarms for 2am lol. The 2002 problem is really unfair and I hope they fix it and it never happens again, but once in the game, holy crap Endwalker has been mindblowing so far.
