Making the log in process less insufferable

The ffxiv client closes itself when it encounter an error. Rather than closing itself, can it at least return you to the title screen? Having to babysit the queue and try again because of the 2002 error is annoying enough as is. But having to open the launcher and log in again after every single error is just insufferable.

Can they also make it so you at least keep the place in the queue if the 2002 error happens? Its possible to keep the place in the queue by opening the ffxiv client twice and immediately trying to log in after one of the two clients kicks you out. I shouldn't have to resort to glitches for some basic queue functionality.

The 2002 error can sometimes keep your place in the queue.

I've been dropped for the 2002 error to the desktop and logged back in and was able to get my place back in queue. Once even after a few attempts resulted in 2002 errors to connect to the data center

Other times not.

Nothing obviously different or same between the instances where I kept my place and the instances where I didn't.

But I do agree with the error just kicking back to title screen instead of desktop. That would help, especially for those who use a 2FA.

Definitely could be improved. A certain third party app that exists solely to speedup the login process, wouldn't exist if, you know, the default weren't so clunky.

Better yet, instead of crashing to desktop just have the client automatically attempt to reconnect if it encounters an error during queuing. I mean... if the player can already manually log in, launch the game, select a world and character and get back to their previous queue position if they're quick enough, surely it shouldn't be impossible to just automate the whole process.

that would certainly reduce stress a lot.
Just for kicks I started running a stopwatch every 2002 and it appears it not only keeps your place but keeps updating your place for 5 minutes before kicking you out of line so the thing to do is stay within sight of it so you can hammer those login credentials and hope you get past the "start" in time.
Just having to hit start on the title screen until your back in queue would be much better. As would a longer grace period to get back in. Granted both these problems will probably be gone within a week anyways

1st time having this problem this morning. I was kicked from queue 3 times, but I kept my place every time. It took an hour and a half to get in. I play with a PS4. Is the problem on all systems; PS4, PS5, PC, etc. or is exclusive to one of those? I was dreading losing my place every time I got kicked out, but felt lucky I didn’t.
