An MMO is set up where all should be able to access so to answer your question, yes, take them down if that is what it requires to fixing the issue so all can play rather than the some that you seem to be ok with from your post.

That is not even remotely true. Practically every MMO, FFXIV included, make no guarantees on the ability to connect to and play on their servers. Even if their hardware is perfect, the underlying Internet infrastructure that everyone must go through to connect to their equipment is far from perfect.

Yeah I mean those that have played, good them! But based on the reception of those not being able to login it seems fair. Once the servers are added, it will be fun for everyone and not just for the people in game right now.

Semiconductor shortage = no server hardware is available for purchase. How do you expect them to add servers if the hardware to do so isn't available?

Doesn’t jp have a spare servers to spare? I don’t know how it exactly works, but is it not possible to redistribute those servers on a server in Germany? Just not technical, but more on what is fair. I’m more on the part of fairness.

We are on 4 to 5 month lead time for servers for our projects and my work place.

I understand the frustration, BELIEVE me, I do, currently 4k+ Queue. They'd love to, and have not been working on only new servers, but new worlds in the works, but even paying way over market, they don't have the semi-conductors to do it. This is was an insane confluence of events, and if any one was different, we wouldn't be having these issues.

There's the shortage, which they can't do anything about, because the pandemic caused severe supply chain issues, meaning they can't get the parts they need for the new servers.

Then there's the sheer numbers. The current active player is literally larger than WoW at it's prime. This was cause by a few factors. One, it's a great game, so people are going to play. Second, there's the free trial that expanded that base (That meme we've been throwing around has hit the Law of Unintended Consequences), drawing in people who might have paid for the game on spec, and giving them enough playtime to get through the rougher parts of ARR. Finally, Blizzard. Through a combination of azz-hattery that we've known about for years related to gameplay, and the current Russian nesting-scandals they're going through, a huge section of the WoW base finally said, "F*** it!" and gave XIV a proper shot (added to because, again, super-generous free trial, and it's a really good game).

And just look at Yoshi in the recent Live Letters: That is a man who has been through The Wars. I'm pretty sure he vaguely *remembers* what sleep is, but it's sort of that nostalgia goggles thing at this point.

I mean since the is a queue it means the server are full of player that manage to login
Seeing as queue does advence a a 4elative good speed (depending on server) it mean that more people manage to login when other leave

Lets face it the real problem is the 2002 that sometimeake you looseyour spot in the queu, sometimes not
The wait time in itself is managable atleast to me
