who is your character?

what inspired their current or original design?

Laisera Angura (Au Ra Xaela).

Honestly, I just fiddled with settings to get something I was happy with. If I ever Fantasia I'll almost certainly change almost nothing (only thing I might do is give them heterochromia). Most of the design philosophy was summed up as "if I have to be represented as a digital avatar, it may as well be one I enjoy looking at!)

I never really gave much thought to backstory. Though since they don't match the general physical description of the Angura tribe of Xaela, I suppose they were adopted into the tribe at some point. Clearly they found their way to Eorzea to start this crazy roller coaster we're on though.

I don't really think about backstories for my MMO characters, but as a creative exercise to pass the time since I just got 2002'd...

Negative Space, the last of his clan, came to Eorzea from the faraway land of [unidentified] to learn the coveted art of Sharlayan astrology in a futile bid to bring his kind back from the aethereal sea. Unfortunately he ended up being inadvertently scooped up by Hydaelyn, and though his original goal has since fallen by the wayside, he has decided that saving the star from the Empire and otherworldly forces was more important for the time being, since he can't bring his clan back if the star is gone or under the yoke of a tyrant. Since he has joined with the Scions, and has used their resources (unbeknownst to Tataru) to study his original goal, deciding to further pursue Sharlayan technology in his bid, between Alphinaud and Alisaie breathing down his neck to go murder something.

He has since gotten very tired of being shaken around like a chore-doing ragdoll, and fully intends to blow a hole through Zenos' head with a noulith and flip Hydaelyn the bird before going back to his homeland at the end of Endwalker... if he gets there.

'Negative Space' isn't his real name, as he doesn't want to be connected to his clan just in case the ones who wiped them out come to finish the job. He intends to keep this name until either his clan is recovered, or if he ever determines this to be impossible.

I tried to make my character look somewhat like me irl (except I'm not as in shape, sadly). Sometimes I like to make my hair and bear white to look like an old man.

For my name (Eismir Nite), I was trying to think of something norse/dragoon sounding and thought of Skyrim. The name Ysmir (a.k.a Talos) came to mind as it was one of the gods mentioned in the game. I looked it up and found out it means "Dragon of the North", which I thought that was pretty cool, so I came up with Eismir. Later I found out that "eis" means ice in German and "mir" means me, so I guess that fits too lol. I used the name Nite for some characters in previous games, so I made that my last name.
