    Enough is enough

    This is bonkers...

Yesterday was in queue of 6000+ just to get kicked off with error 2002 after an hour, MULTIPLE times. Gave up after 5 hours. Today I finally got in after an hour and a half and then get booted off again with error 90002 WTF is this now????

All these things that are happening are apparently down to my connection according to square, even though I never experienced any of them before.

I was at a relative's house trying to play. Their internet is garbage with only ~30 Mbps upload and download. I was 2002'd many times and only passed the queue twice in the span of 5 days.

When I went back home, with >100 Mbps upload and download, I only got 2002 once at the title screen (which isn't a connection thing, it's based on there being too many people trying to connect) and was able to queue fine.

This is also in spite of the relative's house being closer to the data center than my house.

It is definitely a connection thing. Thousands of people are trying to cram into the pipe at the same time. When there's this many people trying to do the same thing, those who can maintain a stable, fast connection themselves will naturally win out over those who have an unstable or slower connection.

Sorry. All I can say is keep trying or wait a week.

Mate, the 2002 was yesteray. It is strange because the issue didn't occur today, on the same connection, with the same queue times. The issue was after getting into the game world, I DCd randomly with 90002 then got into a 6000 queue.

You spoke about 2002, I replied about 2002. 2002 tends to be a more common problem.

A quick google search reveals that 90002, surprisingly, is also caused by unstable connection.

Again, sorry. All I can say is keep trying or wait a week.

2002's are connection related, but not solely on our side. They can likely be made worse by a poor connection, but it is not the only cause. The server lacks adequate error correction and due to load is likely *itself* dropping packets.

I receive 5-7 2002's per 6-7k queue. Given how many are reported by my sibling in the same location, as well as friends in other locations spread across the country, I have reason to believe this is consistent. I also believe the forum white knights are drastically deflating the actual number of 2002's they're getting in reality. The VPN on my work laptop, (which is connected wirelessly while my desktop gaming PC is connected hardwired) has been connected for 6 days straight with zero errors and zero dropped packets - and the consecutive pings I've run to other locations while getting dropped from the queue reflect the same.

I'm not 'the god of networking', but I've also done enough network support in my life to know full well this problem is not on my side.

At my home we have 1GB Internet via Comcast. I am hardwired while my wife is on Wi-Fi. I get 1 maybe 2 2002 errors while loading into a 6k+ queue. Whereas she will get hit 6-7 times. Connection plays a BIG role in it. As mentioned before, be patient and it will all work out. Or if the frustration is too much, unsub for now and return at a later date.

This literally means nothing lol I am playing in the literal same house as my brother and I can often get errors 5-6 times a day and he wont get one. I've had a 90002 and hes had none, hes had tons of errors where I've had none.

It's 100% SE's side. Game is flawless when there isn't a spike of players. No amount of ethernet rubbing and praying will help in anyway.

I've been getting 900002s, twice on the last boss of 83 dungeon, twice while switching areas.
Funnily enough I can go an entire 4 hour raid in another game without a single lag spike or disconnect, and instantly as I check my network stats / router logging theres no interruption in my upstream when the 90k happens.

Guess FFXIV is just a lil too advanced.

My point is, how is this my issue if this NEVER not ONCE EVER happened before the 3rd?

To add to that, i have never had an issue with ANYTHING else online apart from this game since early access. This being on a 100/10mbps connection.

Honestly, i'm done with the white knighting on this forum, and how easily people just lap up the dung they are told. Actively choosing not to think or pay attention to what is happening right in front of their eyes and just regurgitate the same crap we're are told from the frequently crying attentoin seeker.

Perhaps if the people who wish they weren't here actually left, the rest of us might be able to log on
