Compensation question

They may not be like "I want to play EW", but may be like, I'll try to hop in and rekindle my interest. But regardless, I'm glad "something" is getting done.

I was content before the free time had been offered, but I can understand some of the angst of people not able to play. Some of my fc just not even bothering to log in at all because of the queue times, but we all stay in touch on discord. It is what it is tho. Hoping for awesomeness.

I took the week off. I was able to move my holidays.
I get up at 9 AM and the queues are under 100.
My hubby works in the evenings. So this works out great.

I've been playing since beta to 1.0
he was been playing since about 1.07.

We have seen login queues like this every expansion, this is nothing new. The same thing happens every time.
Should they spend $1+m on servers to handle an issue that will self-resolve in a few weeks' time?

There are 1,000 people playing and paying for 30 days and then they are gone not recurring income.

Like anything is a gamble. Do they spend millions on servers and are unable to recover the cost.
These are gaming PC they are high-end servers where the CPU costs somewhere around 50k and there are more than 1 on the server.
Then there are switches and additional network gear.

I don't mean to white night this. But I report directly to the CTO of a telco. So I know what it takes to run networks.

Funnily enough, I don't even want the sub time. I had a specific payment schedule that matches up well. Not that I was actually asking for compensation or anything. If I had been given the 7 days in 4 months or so, then I wouldn't have minded it. Typically, I keep my sub going indefinitely anymore. I really should just buy time in bulk.
