    Loving the game buuuut

    I'm loving what I've been able to play, I know almost everyone is having problems logging in (I say almost because I've seen a few people claims they've had no problems at all) but maybe SE should start offering refunds to those who want it. I personally wouldn't ask for one because I know at some point this will all be fixed, but when is (Somepoint) I'm a parent to 2 children, full time job, obligations to family.. like a lot of people who play this game. I've only been able to play 1 day since EA began due to not being able to log in until 2pm-7pm CT and 1-3 hour queue times + 2002, a good deal of people are in the same situation. I don't blame the devs but I also understand the frustration, I'm frustrated as well. To those who haven't been able to play due to all this, try to be patient. For those who think they are just whining, try to understand..

    Okay, but what would that refund entail?

    Pause the subscription where it is, and let you come back without time changing on your subscription left?
    Refund endwalker?
    Refund the entire game?
    Pay you for your subscription time left?

    What would you do to get that refund? Delete your character and never play again? Or are you going to come back in a month, and all you really need is a way to really pause your subsciption so you don't lose any of what you paid for until then?

    You're muddying the solution for the sake of making it seem impossible.

    Refund the purchase. Roll account back to status before purchase. Easy.

    I like this idea. I'll stop trying to login and they can let me know when they finally get the servers they need to make FFXIV playable for most of the players.

    I think compensation is great. Free days for the login troubles, sure.

    But refunds - what exactly? The entire expansion? Your endwalker purchase? I'm against that, mostly because - if you preordered endwalker, bought the expac, activated it, then refunded it, you are kinda doing Square Enix dirty when they invested in new servers to support the influx of players buying the expac. And they invested at more than 200% the typical price of a server cluster, if not in the 300% or as much as 500%.

    just saying. it's kind of rude.

    The state of the expansion/game is fine though as long as you make it in its been smooth.

    I personally started to just getting up early and play for a few hours before work and it made a big difference for me to get through the story.

    The issue is the capacity of the server for logging in and world servers for connections. Sadly the errors are also in relation to these issues and I think fixing these errors should be and likely are a priority.

    There has always been queues at launch of a new expansion, this time the queues are much bigger though due to an increase of players.

    It is not just more costly like this person has pointed out but it also is difficult due to supply of tech they need. Which is likely a genuine issue and it has been an issue since prior to the influx of players. It has been in large part due to restrictions due to the pandemic which has been going on for a year before the significant influx.

    Not the same, but just think about how it's been as an individual to obtain a PS5 or a newer graphics card the past months. Supply and demand is an issue even when the demand is known to be high. I am still waiting to buy a PS5 myself. (I know it's not specifically supply with graphics cards tho, scalpers buy, resell and jack up prices >:|).

    I do feel for those who need to wait in a queue to get online and the queue takes hours. It will get better though. I do recommend playing early morning for those who have the option. My coffee machine was my BFF this week.

    If you have a standard 9 to 5 job you’re pretty much locked out from playing at all. When you actually log on it’ll be close to bedtime. My friend is in this situation, wasn’t able to play for the whole week so far.

    Since the silly argument has come up again in this thread, albeit in a deleted post, thanks Comfort for preserving it through a quote, I want to make a note on that silly argument made by Nullock..

    Now, this is definitely going to be blunt and perhaps a bit rude.. but, if you honestly think that the EW queues, and the problem we're having with those queues, the errors.. and note that this is literally the only issue we're having.. if you honestly think that alone makes EW's launch 'the worst thing ever, worse than New World, ARR or any WoW expansion launch' as I've seen plenty others argue across different threads.. you must surely be high on something.

    You must have stuck your head quite deep in the sand to even make such an argument, what we're dealing with is nothing, absolutely nothing compared to the regularity of the gaming industry's real disasters, think BF 2042, Cyberpunk, FO76, Anthem and Mass Effect Andromeda and hell, Squeenix's own Marvel's Avengers.. we have it good compared to any of those.

    No, that does not invalidate the frustration that our queue issues are causing, damn right you can be irritated and angry about it, but some of these takes of the last week are just beyond ridiculous.

    The forums have also been all over the place too, i can understand the frustrations, truly. But making thread after thread about it with peoples personal life essays is so very unnecessery..
