Giving up on early release.

7 days reimbursement? No. Not when my options are to either spend hours hoping to be able to log in or to give up on sleep when I finally do in the middle of the night.

I will be back in a few weeks. When this goes into full release in two days, it will be even worse. I shouldn't be punished because I actually have obligations in the real world.

I hate to bash on SE because they do amazing work, but they knew this was coming. They should have opened up more instances and more servers. Last night, I spent 3 hours trying to log in. At once point I made it from 4,300 to number 1, got the 2002 error, and was sent back to 4,000. After 3 hours, I finally got in but I was so tired, I couldn't play. Hopefully they will figure it out in a month or two. I'll be back then.

If everything was perfectly catered to all ~8 billion people so nobody felt like they were 'being punished,' there would be no life to live. If you can't accept the fact that the current most popular MMO has server issues on the drop of the most anticipated expansion in it's history, it's time to introspect.

If everything was perfectly catered to all ~8 billion people so nobody felt like they were 'being punished,' there would be no life to live. If you can't accept the fact that the current most popular MMO has server issues on the drop of the most anticipated expansion in it's history, it's time to introspect.

It's an expansion launch. Every MMO has them. Every MMO has server issues during them. Complaining does nothing but further make the devs hate the players. It happened in WoW and will happen here too.

You didn't pay for early access. You paid for the expansion and got early access as a bonus.

The case for most MMOs is that you do not pay for the software, you pay for the right to use the software, whether it works or doesn't work. This is to prevent people like you from crawling down the developer's throats when unprecedented things (e.g. Endwalker Launch having unknowable amount of players) happen that prevent them from playing the game. This is also what allows them to lock out people who break the rules, without worrying about retribution in the form of a lawsuit.

Unless you're a newborn baby, you should know how MMOs work. They're live services, subject to the issues that come with something being live.
