Yes, they had YEARS to predict a pandemic, cryptocurrency miners buying up all the hardware and a recently huge influx of players from another MMO. Judging from you dismissal of covid, though, facts probably don't mean much to you in the first place.
I keep seeing this mentioned many times here and.. must admit I have been out of zee loop for much time. Though I seriously doubt much here has changed but, crypto miners are not purchasing the same fab space that gets allocated to datacenters and big corporations.
Believe me here, AMD/Intel prioritize fabrication space for high volume orders of incredibly expensive chips miners and consumers never touch.
Imagine this within the mind's eye, you are responsible for management of the production of cpus. You know there is a shortage and only so many chips can be manufactured. Would you spin up the fabs for 50,000 eight core Ryzen chips each selling for 500 dollars that you may not even sell? Or would you possibly take a loss in consumer sales and manufacture ten bulk orders of 5000 dollar Eypc cpus that are guaranteed to sell almost the moment they are packaged?
Yes data centers are experiencing difficulty acquiring parts but not nearly to same degree the average pc enthusiast is. If someone works in the field perhaps they can provide additional insight. Chips are still being manufactured by the thousands, because we cannot purchase them easily does not mean no one can at'all. That is simply absurd and no mega corporation operating properly would refuse to move product. Accept loss of market share yes but to compromise their most profitable product? This is simply not happening.
"The first occurs when attempting to log into a logical data center (such as Aether or Primal) and there are more than 17,000 players in the login queue. This leads to an Error 2002 occurring, resulting in being unable to enter the login queue."
Wat? I suspected issues with database structure but to falter at 17k? I assisted in launching a website that projected 2000 concurrent users only to be slammed by 50,000+ two days after going live. We had no down time.. 17k is umm, what is phrase.. "small popotos".

This argument is always garbage. Because this doesn't take into account the zero upgrade that should have been planned precovid. Now would 1 or 2 worlds in EU and NA make a big difference, not at all. The point is SE planned either zero growth for the game or was comfortable counting their money till servers started to melt and playing experience suffered. Which is it? You guys crying about other factors seem to ignore ones staring you in the face. And only a moron would have thought OCE was going to make any difference for EU. In fact it is more likely to benefit the region least in need JPN.
