It's not something that's relegated to SE. You have veteran workers in the restaurant and retail industry up and quitting their jobs because people have just become so nasty. Blame it on social media, the echo chambers, the assumption that everyone needs to be perfect and aren't allowed to make mistakes, and the collective narcissism of society's various groups. Humans have never been good. We're a selfish, cruel lot that throws tantrums whenever something doesn't go our way. I only see it getting worse as people become more disconnected from each other.

Kinda makes you wish for a Final Days in the real world.
