I am sort of a WoW-refugee. (Although I quit WoW and MMOs in general after Classic BWL, I jumped on the bandwagon to FF14 because I stumbled onto Zepla's youtube channel and saw that this game was actually awesome, plus I played FF games as a kid.)
But I sure as hell don't support the whiners, moaners and Karens on these forums.

They're giving the developers a really distorted view of the playerbase mentality with all these endless posts that are nothing but whine in complete disregard for the reasons as to why these problems are occurring.

I'm kind of worried, because this happened on WoW too and turned it into a really shit game over the years. Whiners took over the forums and were shouting louder than everyone else like a bunch of toddlers, the game became super casual and in game systems transformed into this weird time-based "Do your dailies every day!" nonsensical design that really just made the game horrible.

On WoW classic it was even worse. Roughly when I quit after a raid called Blackwing Lair was (re)released, people started to do what was called GDKP's. (Gold Dragon Killing Point-raids.)

They essentially played into the hand of gold sellers and even went as far as becoming the gold seller's source of gold, selling the gold they made newer players or alts of players pay to be able to enjoy the raid content.

Of course, they did this for selfish reasons. And it resulted in the game dying. (Surprise!)

Similarly, I believe that if developers listen to these children crying endlessly about whatever triggered them on the latest patch, they'll start to implement changes that will not be good for the majority of the playerbase.

I mean, of course error 2002 needs to be looked at, but people don't understand that the queue getting error 2002 is far better than the server getting overloaded and shutting down. Sure, it isn't better "for them", but that's the catch, isn't it?
They're selfish and entitled and don't realise that their solutions would make the situation much, much worse, for anyone, but them.

Also, I think people are actually starting conspiracy theory type nonsense by claiming, without proof, that there are "loads of people" successfully circumventing the AFK-boot out. These sorts of things also happened frequently with WoW during the entire WoW history.

I just hope that the developers at Square Enix realise that the majority of the playerbase is actually enjoying the launch of EW, even if they have to wait for queues, or get up early in the morning to circumvent them.

Take my FC for example, people are just joking around about the queue and celebrating when someone manages to log on. Much more light-hearted than these children who come to these forums to cry wolf.

What? Why do you defend a company that big ? Sure i dont agree with everything what peeps here write down but this is nonsense. And by the way i do not care for the company i care for the game, as product or expierence. And we pay for this. SO we have the right to complaint and SE can ignor or embrace this as they wish. We as the customer - NOT friends or buddy - can decide not to pay anymore money or pay. Thats it. Thats the relationship we have. Everything else is in youre imagination.

Yeah all cry baby from WoW thats why I never played WoW I have a 840 day subs on my FFXIV account. I wanted a extentions on my sub cause I paid a sub to play a game I can't log in and guess what my demand was so bad that they gived it! And I guess you are the Fanboy who did not have played other MMO cause compensation are common in the buisness... Got some on DAoC, on Warhammer Online, SW galaxy people told that had happen in WoW too.

I’m gonna tell you to read the forums a little better. The queue times everyone accepted and is quite happy to endure knowing how popular the game is. If anything is proves how good the game is. What we are angry about is the 2002 errors. If I’m in a 4-10k person queue, I want to be able to put the kettle on without fear of disconnecting and losing my place

I love how all these new people who have come into FFXIV wanting to play it, IMMEDIATELY dump on a company they really don't even know. All I see is a bunch of Karens getting pissy because oh, hey, a queue time. I get it. EU servers should have been upgraded. I feel for EU. But the way you guys are screaming "Waaah, I want a refund and compensation." This is why companies don't give a crap anymore.

This is completely asinine. Has anyone even stopped to consider how the company feels? trying to deliver a fantastic game/product to all these ungrateful children screaming and crying. I get it, WoW died. Sorry, no one foresaw that coming, especially so soon before the Endwalker drop.

You all need to grow up, and realize crap happens. And maybe try to I don't be considerate. But that's asking too much for all the influx of new people coming in. Already guard up, ready to strike with "lawsuits" and ready to bite anyone's head off just for defending a game and a company, people like me and idk 4M other players that have been playing consistently for years since 2013, hell even 2011 when 1.0 dropped.

You guys had your time on WoW, I even played with friends here and there. But trashing another game, making it look like utter garbage just to make a point of you guys wanting a fight for no reason. The customer isn't always right, I learned that working as a chef for years, and even retail.

And to be honest, you guys are even lucky you got compensation at all. Other game companies wouldn't have done that.

Honestly. It baffles me that threads like this are still being made.

Even the developers understand that players should and do have a right to feel disappointed about not being able to play something that they've paid for. That's why a lot of these threads are left up. It's OKAY to express disappointment with something that has let you down.

You're fighting a silly, arbitrary and self-entitled battle of your own to elevate yourself and it's pathetic to look at.

Ok, and as I can tell, they HAVE provided the "product" you guys are screaming for. Are they supposed to be clairvoyant? See into the future? Last I checked, people aren't clairvoyant. So, pray tell what have they NOT provided? They explained what was going on a while ago. No one reads though. Last I checked not really any stability issues when I WAS on. And yes, I will be a fanboy for a company that actually cares. Not my fault everyone else just rolls in, and expects perfection when people are not perfect. Humans are fallible. Last I checked, game developers aren't gods? But, yes, bash me for fanboying for a game and a company I love and have supported FOR YEARS. It's ok for everyone to fanboy, but, when someone else does it, it's a crime. So, again, tell me, what have they NOT provided? Other than entitled selfish people caring about only THEIR play time, I still see the product they promised, not their fault there's a shortage, and I don't know a 6 month to a year wait list. And go look up the prices to rent game servers right now. That's the people you need to be screaming at, not people making a video game and doing the best they can. But, none of this matters cause everyone only sees hate now, and only screams and cries when they don't get what they want. I'll gladly wait in queue for a game I love. I don't complain about the wait, cause hey, at least I CAN play. It's not like they charged you and then shut everything down and said ok, bye!

I think they should have had some foresight, when the servers were already full before EW even released, that they may need to adjust things. There was a huge influx of players when the WoW crowd jumped ship and came over. As it stands, I'm not even mad about the queue times, every game has those at launch of a new expansion. I am, however, annoyed by the 2002 error that makes waiting in a queue for 3-4 hours pointless sometimes. I do think people have the right to be upset that their time is wasted. And yes, when you wait in a queue for several hours expecting to get to play, and are kicked to the back of the queue by a 2002 error, it SHOULD upset you.

Imagine being at Disney World, and waiting in a 3-4 hour line to ride a ride. You get near the front of the line, then BAM, security randomly grabs you and forces you to the back of the line without an explanation. People would be infuriated. And you defending SE for this is like someone standing at the back of the line telling people "You can't be mad at Disney, Karen, Grow up and realize that crap happens". If someone did that, they'd promptly get throttled.
