I have no angle to play at this, on one end. Critique is perfectly healthy but due to the reputation and irrational attachment, some people take offense and drive all critique into their realm of bickering and name calling

On the other, it’s a temporary issue and sick of hearing 100 threads on it. Yes it’s annoying and yes it’s a hindrance and yes a company of their girth could’ve done more but stick to one or two threads not drown the forums of this. More so since this won’t age well in a month or two when ques are back to normal and you can go back to afking in Limsa

No, it literally hasn't. This is far and away the worst it has ever been, and no amount of insane attempts at historical revisionism will change that.

I played on the most populated server in the game for both SB and SHB launch, and neither hold a candle to this embarrassing debacle.

I love how all these new people who have come into FFXIV wanting to play it, IMMEDIATELY dump on a company they really don't even know. All I see is a bunch of Karens getting pissy because oh, hey, a queue time. I get it. EU servers should have been upgraded. I feel for EU. But the way you guys are screaming "Waaah, I want a refund and compensation." This is why companies don't give a crap anymore.

This is completely asinine. Has anyone even stopped to consider how the company feels? trying to deliver a fantastic game/product to all these ungrateful children screaming and crying. I get it, WoW died. Sorry, no one foresaw that coming, especially so soon before the Endwalker drop.

You all need to grow up, and realize crap happens. And maybe try to I don't be considerate. But that's asking too much for all the influx of new people coming in. Already guard up, ready to strike with "lawsuits" and ready to bite anyone's head off just for defending a game and a company, people like me and idk 4M other players that have been playing consistently for years since 2013, hell even 2011 when 1.0 dropped.

You guys had your time on WoW, I even played with friends here and there. But trashing another game, making it look like utter garbage just to make a point of you guys wanting a fight for no reason. The customer isn't always right, I learned that working as a chef for years, and even retail.

And to be honest, you guys are even lucky you got compensation at all. Other game companies wouldn't have done that.

I've been playing Square's games on and off since the original Final Fantasy came out for the NES, I've played literally every FF out there, Vagrant Story, all of Kingdom Hearts, crap, I even played that god awful FF7 spinoff game... Dirge of Cerberus, do i get the right to complain now?

I mean, I haven't complained a single time about the current connectivity woes, but you can't tell PAYING customers to shut it when the product they are paying for is not being delivered, plain and simple. You try doing that in real life and see how that works out for you. If there's nothing your company can do to alleviate an issue, the best they can do is to take the criticism and compensate for as much as they can while the issue is resolved.

They are not complaining about the game being garbage, they are complaining about not being to access the game.

If the complaints aggravate you so much, don't read them.

The state of the servers has been like that for ages. It was their choice not to upgrade them when they had the chance. Now we get announcements from Yoshi trying to excuse themselves and suggesting we don't log in on peak time which is 12 hours for EU FYI. So now ppl have every right to complain over how bad the servers were managed and thus lead to todays problems. What can we do about itnother than complain? Almost nothing. We just have to either wait for new servers (not happening anytime soon cause they don't wanna spend money on renting already available servers), ppl to get bored and start playing less or finally the death of the game itself. Whichever comes first remains to be seen.

Have you never played another mmo besides ffxiv?? To say this launch is embarrassing is disingenuous to the max. If your biggest complaint is ques that's sad, maybe mmo's aren't for you? Name me ONE mmo game/expansion that launched in perfect shape? I'll wait.

Beyond that once you get into the game there's literally 0 lag and I've not had a single DC. It has been an extremely smooth launch compared to basically any other expansions launch. Honestly its just impossible to please some people.

I've not played any other MMO's before, but Overwatch, which had one of the biggest launches with player numbers that dwarf the amount of people ingame and are in a queue, didn't have these issues
so yes, it is embarrassing, stop saying it isn't
half of the people in my FC have to use remote desktop utilities if they want to play after work

not only is that anecdotal evidence, but I've seen multiple people complain about lag they didn't have before and even more people getting DC'd mid dungeon, cutscene or trial despite a perfectly fine internet connection
just because it doesn't happen to you doesn't mean it doesn't exist or doesn't happen to others

stop defending a company that's trying to save a pennies by gambling with the goodwill of the community, though knowing the community, one letter from yoship and it's all forgotten because who cares about the week long issues
can't wait for the same thing to happen next expansion and for the very same people to feverishly defend the same thing happening again because "reasons"

I've played a ton of MMOs at launch, thanks. It's not disingenuous in the slightest, anyone who doesn't think this queuing problem is massive is completely delusional and simping hard for a billion dollar corporation that doesn't, and will never, care about them.

I'd also like to note I haven't been affected by the queueing problem personally whatsoever; This is my assessment looking from the outside watching friends and FC mates struggle with it, and having played plenty of other mmo launches. This game is more unplayable to the average working adult than most others I've played.

I wouldn't care about queues... if I didn't get disconnected multiple times after having sat for hours in a queue. To date, I have been able to play the expansion perhaps 90 minutes since early access, and unfortunately the highlight of that time was helping an elephant critique his sales pitch for selling fish... as part of the MSQ for the END OF DAYS.

Disappointed not only in the disconnect issues, but the pacing of the start of the game, which just makes me feel worse about the disconnects.
